Their are decent odds that some of the early people who get this vaccine that they think is safe are more like guinea pigs because they have to rush testing to get the vaccine out fast without looking at longer term effects. |

It was just crazy how that day felt like there was a strong shift in the atmosphere. Sort of ominous and like an inevitable change just suddenly clicked in. But not as scary as maybe that sounds. |

The plane is the least of my worries. The TSA checkpoints on the other hand, I hope they find a better way to process passengers’ belongings through the x-ray. I always hate having to put my belongings in the same trays where thousands before me placed their nasty, filthy shoes.

That sounds about right. Around the middle of March people were still not allowed to locally enter stores with a mask since there are really old mask laws in place and they weren't yet recommended. Around the last week of March gloves started disappearing from shelves but I can't recall masks being worn in public until April and there was still a lot of debate of their efficacy even then. Masks and hand sanitizer seemed to be the first to sell out on a massive scale even though I don't recall seeing them on many people in March. For pretty much all of March until a time in April it seemed the general public only thought you'd really be at risk by touching stuff. Mask wearing probably peaked the final week of April around here and is probably around half of what it was then, sadly, and it's not uncommon to walk in store stores like auto supply or hardware where there there may not be anyone other than perhaps an employee wearing one and even then I've seen employees with their masks pulled all the way down or not wearing them all.

March 11 may be around the first day I started having some concerns as well. It was the last day we saw a movie in the theater and it was packed. People were sneezing and coughing and rows were packed full of people. But of course the tv doctors were saying at the time to not buy into the media's panic and were shrugging it off as being even less worrisome than the regular flu season. And then a few days later a lot of stuff started shutting down, but there were also plenty of businesses who refused to set any restrictions or close until they were forced to do so. And of course all of those businesses posted a message online saying something like "For the safety of our employees and customers, we've decided to temporarily close.' This was predictably the day before state or county orders were to go in place and yet they pretended like it was their brilliant idea to shut down for everyone's health and safety.

What a mess. FINALLY got the antibody test results.
CityMD had them on the 2nd but I had to call Quest labs to finally get them released. I'm Negative. Atm, I know 8 people including me who went for the antibody test: 5 were negative and 3 were positive. The 3 that were positive were REALLY sick and 1 was officially diagnosed with an actual test. But, in the end, it doesn't mean much of anything at all. It doesn't even mean I haven't had it. A friend of a friend tested positive - had the test done when she was extremely sick and it came back positive. She went for the antibody test and it came back negative. So....yeah. These tests are pretty unreliable. |

Mar 13 is the day I started working from home...so that's what I consider as the 'start' of this.

Couple great articles about masks ...
• https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020...new-study-says • https://www.businessinsider.com/peop...andemic-2020-5 * As for flying on jammed packed airplanes (sardines cans), in my opinion this is a bad decision. It's the highest risk you can take during a pandemic, and you risk other's lives. The heat detectors they use @ the airports before you enter and board the planes how effective they are with people infected with the virus but without showing any temperature sign? In Quebec, Canada, they want to reopen businesses and schools when they are right in the middle of health emergency @ the highest in all Canada. I don't get it...are Quebecois people smarter than the rest of the country? Are they more obedient? ...More disciplined? Air Canada; are they into being open for business or risking more lives or what's the matter with that company? |
