It's the highest risk you can take during a pandemic, and you risk other's lives.
It's not even the seating issue. Eventually you're going to be breathing in someone's air (and vice versa) as it's all recycled, plus how often do they change or clean the filtration systems? you're breathing in the expelled air from passengers earlier in the day, the day before ...

Unless it's a life or death emergency and you're happy in the knowledge the trip may kill you and anyone you come into contact with ... I can't see why anyone would get on a plane.

It's called a deep fundamental lack of understanding just how serious this situation is.

I promise you we're not. NYC is going to be the LAST and FINAL place to re-open and get back to normal. All other states will start experiencing some sort of a normal life later this month or next month, the latest. But NYC, we're still going to be in shelter-in-place for a good while. I don't see us re-opening the economy in NY by June. But maybe I'm wrong and Cuomo will decide to open up starting next week, but somehow, I doubt it.

NYC will probably start phase one of reopening in 2-3 weeks. It's based on a set of metrics, which we're very close to meeting. Other parts of NY have met them, and will start opening up after May 15.

I'm gonna guess this photo of a Trader Joe's is from a holiday rush considering everyone's wearing jackets, though I don't spot any seasonal foods or signage. And from what I'm aware of they haven't been allowing people to pack in like that.

I hate to be someone who nitpicks about this sort of thing, and maybe I'm wrong, but we don't need to start showing pictures from the before-times to get worked up about people being irresponsible.

Oh. Right. The picture URL is dated August 29 2017.

This is why we can be sure this virus isn't going away anytime soon.

haha see this is the up-to-date and relevant outrage content I'm looking for. Honestly these people are terrible and that woman who smiled and waved and thumbs-upped is just next-level. The manager of this store is the worst for allowing this and I'm sorry for their employees.

Mind you, I'm not saying a vaccine is bad for you. I'm just saying that I, personally, think some people have bad reactions to it. It's just like anything, even medication. Not every person's body responds positively to it.

But then again, I'm no medical expert and maybe they're right and it's all just coincidence.
People tend to get colds in the fall/winter months, which is also when people get the flu shot. So anybody who gets a flu shot and then ends up with a cold or the flu within the next week blames it on the flu shot. In reality it has nothing to do with it. They just caught a cold/flu around the time they got the shot. It takes up to 2 weeks to be fully protected against the flu after getting the shot, and the shot isn't always particularly effective. It depends on if they got it right that year/guessed the right strains. So they may have gotten the flu if the shot that year wasn't protecting against the strain they caught. That doesn't mean the shot made them sick.

Yeah, I feel bad for the employees there. Can you imagine working there right now?

If the manager went against any kind of city or state orders, then maybe hopefully in a better world some employees might have a case against them if they felt pressured to work on that day. Just an idea on top of what Batman1980 said.

So the virus had been here for a while before anyone noticed eh? Perhaps what we're experiencing now is the second wave?

No I would imagine this is all part of the initial wave of the virus becoming widespread.

Yeah, that picture was taken before the pandemic. What I was trying to get at is that the picture is an example of what day to day shopping is like here in NYC on an ordinary day. So, if you're going to open up the economy, especially in a dense area like NYC, good luck telling a crowd like that to stay six feet apart. Once NYC opens up, I smell a disaster!

Still think it's creepy that THE SECOND I place a Coronavirus pick-up Burger King order, I get an email about it.

Had a 102 degree fever last week, turned out to be tonsillitis. Not that I could get a covid test anyway because I don't drive so can't get to a testing centre and the uk government website's identity checker for postal kits to be sent out didn't recognise my details. Yay.

I already heard construction near my apartment yesterday and a good friend was driving on the BQE and saw construction as well. Didn't that stop?
