Sounds like me in December.

If this was more deadly ie. Ebola, it wouldn't be as effective a virus.

Japan cases are way down, Singapore trending down. Actually most areas in the world (Brazil the most notable exception) are trending down in cases and deaths.

Back around Christmas I developed a sore throat that lasted a couple of weeks. I went on a joyride on the Staten Island Ferry with visiting nieces one night and was exposed to cold air for a good while so that may have been a factor but I've never had a sore throat that lasted more than 3 or 4 days. Around the same time, or shortly after, my boss' secretary developed a nasty cold and she was hacking up her guts for at least a week. I'm convinced we both have had the virus even as early as December.

In general I’d be weary of such “wishful thinking“ as it may lead people to thinking they’re unlikely to get it again (for the foreseeable future at least), creating a false sense of security and maybe putting themselves in greater risk of actual infection.

I believe I had it as I was sick as a dog for a good week back in March, sweats and chills and cough and sore throat included. But I still play it very safe and assume it wasn't in case it indeed wasn't the Coronavirus.

Considering this whole thing started halfway around the world, that's quite a milestone.

CDC: Coronavirus mainly spreads through person-to-person contact and 'does not spread easily' on contaminated surfaces

Quote:
While touching infected surfaces has always been part of the messaging on how the virus spreads, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently shifted its stance online. The CDC now says that COVID-19 spreads from person to person contact, and then lists touching infected surfaces under a section titled, "The virus does not spread easily in other ways." The CDC adds: “This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about this virus.” The language is a subtle change from the organization’s warning in early March, when it wrote simply that it “may be possible” to spread the virus through contaminated surfaces.
Quote:
“Based on the epidemiology, we know that the main way this virus is infecting people is from direct contact with other infected people,” Adalja says. “Contaminated surfaces play some role, but it’s likely much smaller.” It also makes sense, too, he says: “This is a respiratory virus, and respiratory viruses largely spread through breathing in infected respiratory droplets.”
Quote:
The CDC, which did not respond to Yahoo Life’s request for comment, still recommends that you wash your hands often with soap and water, and routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces to protect yourself and others from the virus.
Quote:
Watkins agrees. “It might be possible to become infected after touching a surface that has the virus, then touching one's face,” he says. “That is why handwashing and avoiding touching one's face are important. However, this isn't the main way the virus is spread.”
Quote:
The CDC’s lesser emphasis on infected surfaces as part of the spread of COVID-19 is slightly different from that of the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO states online that “COVID-19 spreads primarily from person to person,” but adds that, “it can also spread if you touch contaminated objects and surfaces.”

Agreed. Cases and deaths down this month, in spite of reopenings. That's a good sign. The lockdowns worked. They did their job. Now it's time move on to save the economy and the lives it will destroy if we don't open. The ones most affected by lockdowns are the working class poor and small businesses.

I'm not. As bad as it is, people are flouting the rules anyway. Shouldn't continue to keep people from going to work, school, drinks and church. Other things are less essential and can wait until there's more measures in place.
