Well that's the thing. When is it going to end? This year? Next? Year after? Covid could easily become yet another regular illness we have to deal with each and every year.

If I dine out and get infected because the food was contaminated, someone coughed on me at the restaurant, or the table wasn't properly sterilized, then I go visit mom and dad afterwards and then visit my grandparents over the weekend.... do you see where I'm getting at now?
Sure, I see where you are going. You do know you run the same risks food shopping and such. No reason to pinpoint dine-in restaurants.

Try being more proactive as opposed to the purveyor of doom. You will sleep better.

Well you see, that’s the problem. I have yet to pass by an outdoor dining where tables are spaced far enough apart. Tables are scrunched closed together and no one is wearing a mask because they are eating and drinking. Not good!

The more people act recklessly, the longer it will last. How long will it last? You tell me. Everyone’s actions determine how long this will go on. Based on my observation of people’s behavior, it will be a long time. And that’s why I’m getting so worked up over this...

As it is, with the restrictions placed on dine-in restaurants it is estimated that over 50% will permanently close within the next 3 to 5 months.
Yesterday and today I was reading several articles on COVID-19 vaccines from all over the world.
All sources mentioned vaccines ... Israel, UK, South Africa, Italy, USA, Canada, Brazil, ... from various companies.

It could take years before they develop one, and there's no guaranty @ the percentage of its effectiveness and what people's age segments.

https://www.bbc.com/news/health-53061288

https://www.thestar.com/news/world/a...-19-trial.html

It might not work in the elderly people but more in the younger people surrounding the elderly, consequently protecting them.

Many articles are creating a false sense of hope I think.
And some companies are more into financial gains than saving lives.

This COVID-19 is detrimental in many ways, not just killing people but also killing our ways of life by shaking the most fundamental values of our societies. There are more frustrations, more protests, more contestations, more finger pointing, more bad decisions, anger, lost of temper, fear, ...brief many are losing patience.
On the other hand some remain calm and practice the new adaptation in order to slow it down...the spreading.

We live in another world now, and for a long time to come ...

That's my frank opinion, numbers up, numbers down, and numbers up again.
Money? Food, water, a roof, a bed, masks, living first dying later eventually.
Each day we're still alive is a good day.

I'm afraid so, and according to several experts.

Some Michigan news:

At least 34 COVID-19 cases linked to Harper's Restaurant; patrons asked to self-quarantine

https://www.freep.com/story/news/loc...ty/3250800001/

Appeals court says Michigan gyms must remain closed, just hours before they were to reopen

Thankfully....

I'm really enjoying getting out and I think I've set a record for dining in restaurants this week.

Funny thing is: I never used to be one for going into restaurants but now I really enjoy it. My girlfriend is taking me out for lunch today (it's my birthday...I'm old). Went to the Burger King yesterday for some soft ice cream.

I walked past a local daycare yesterday and noticed the kids playing in the yard. The flag is flying at the school across the street.

We have a way to go yet but it's nice to see things rapidly returning to normal.

I'll agree that things are returning to normal when we can get through 1 day without thousands of new cases.

You're mistaken. We're not in, nor are we currently returning to any semblance of pre-COVID normal. We've been in a new normal for about 5 months now. You may be going about your business like absolutely nothing has happened or changed since February, & if so then you're a part of the problem.

This is no joke. We are taking precautionary measures during this time because we want to help OTHER people; not just ourselves.
blame the governors for allowing them to open then, not the patrons doing what theyre allowed to be doing...learn to adapt and live with the virus, not cower in fear for the next year or however long this may last.

this is an absolute JOKE. who the hell is in charge making decisions, unbelievable.

so, the very people who have the highest risk of mortality from this disease should do things to not help themselves and others... makes sense

Update coming from the governor on CO-VID 19 today, guessing she'll be addressing fireworks and whether or not movie theatres will be allowed to re-open in July.

Not getting political here, but I would expect the average human being to know right from wrong and shouldn't have to be forbidden to do something in order to get people to do it. People should do something because it's the right thing to do. In an ideal world, it shouldn't have to be against the law to rob someone. People shouldn't be robbing to begin with because it's wrong. People in this world have to use at least an ounce of the brain that they have. A lot of the things required of us in life are very simple.

That is why I'm so frustrated and upset right now. People just don't want to do the simplest things in life and that's why the world is falling apart at the moment. All of this can be gone if we just did the simplest things that's required of us.

It's only not easy because most people think of themselves first, second and third before they think of anything else.
