I have zero clue what's gonna look like April 24, less than zero.
Anyone with a vision?

Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses and your cruise ships with 1,243 passengers with 42 experiencing flu-like symptoms - a cruise ship that was supposed to disembark in Chile but is now set to dock in Florida.

Life is back to normal - almost. If you are 65 or older or have health issues, it is recommended you continue S-I-P. Everything is open again. But . . .

Hospitals are running triages in their parking lots. The death toll for CV19 here in the US has zoomed past 100,000. No big deal . . . 480,000 people die each year because of smoking and another 41,000 due to second hand smoke. They still sell cigarettes.

Because they will probably end the Shelter-In-Place edicts by the end of next week.

I'm willing to bet most of the shelter in place edicts don't end next week. they probably get more strict. like you probably wont even see if your shelter in place did anything at all for at least 2 or even 3 weeks given the long incubation time. The only reason they didint start with a shelter in place for 5 to 8 weeks was because they didn't think people could stomach that right off the bat I would guess.

According to local news, a Georgia mammogram technician passed away in her home, and was confirmed by laboratory tests to have COVID-19.

“The woman, 42, had been dead 12 to 16 hours when the police, checking on her welfare, discovered her body, Hawk said. Her child, apparently 4 or 5 years old, was in the home at the time.”

I wonder how many others are going to die in their homes because of the current unavailability of widespread testing, lack of health insurance, quarantine uncertainty, hospital resources, etc. We may have to have a corpse disposal task force going door to door just like in Stephen King's The Stand.

I don't know how many people have it and are asymptomatic but i've got ill like in February and didn't test temperature but i've since been worried what people have said about this being something people have gotten twice after recovery or how it could develop. They're only concentrating on testing you unless you show specific symptoms and i do think there's people that could be out there that do take sudden turns depending on how this virus plays out in some individuals.

I actually think the lockdowns were necessary here in the UK. People globally have also been shown to be shunning the social distancing laws and congregating in large numbers and that was ultimately going to lead to possibly spreading things much faster. People are being morons and unfortunately there's more of them than we seem to realise. Now if Coronavirus only got rid of those idiots in society i'm sure we'd all be saying how amazing a recovery society would make with smart individuals left but i don't believe Darwin principles of "survival of the fittest" and the truth is a lot of morons will survive this too. Not that i want them to die but here in my city for example, these idiots ignore social distancing and hang out with friends at social gatherings and then basically go home to families where they live with older people who are vulnerable and specifically put them at risk of dying. It's ridiculous.

Chinese City Wuhan, Original Epicenter Of COVID-19, To End Quarantine

Quote:
Wuhan, the Chinese city where the coronavirus first emerged back in December, will have its quarantine lifted within two weeks.

The city has been in lockdown for months, but transportation will now resume on April 8 and people will be allowed to leave the province. A statement was posted on the Hubei local government’s website on Tuesday (March 24) confirming the news.

Hubei reported zero new infections on March 19, a significant reduction since the height of the epidemic, according to Bloomberg. Globally, there has been more than 380,000 confirmed cases worldwide and more than 16,000 deaths. In China, there have been more than 80,000 cases and more than 3,000 deaths. Source

It seems Social Distancing is the same as careful driving, you're only as safe as other people allow you to be.

Same here Narmak. We have 63 confirmed cases here, with too many students treating the previous social distancing rule as a means for a free holiday or something. Not to be snooty, but i expected better of the city. I'm tracking how it is developing every few days, and doing a flexible food shop on the fly when i can. What town or city are you in Sir?

Leaving in 25 minutes to check out the "geezer hour" at my local Walmart. Hopefully I can buy some meat.

Tried Taco Flavored Turkey (ground-up) for meatloaf. Spicy and dry. Needs salsa as a "gravy."

I was watching a video somebody shared and is it only me that finds it hilarious that China somehow has found a way to have ZERO new infections in their entire country where there's over 1 billion people yet somehow the virus is continuing to rip through many other countries and rising in cases as well as deaths?

I'm not into conspiracies but the bottom line is, there's allegedly no cure for this. Some individuals are shown to be asymptomatic but could pass it on yet China has stemmed this virus completely?! Nah, that's way too convenient imo and doesn't match with what's happening globally because of Coronavirus.

Tbh, i don't go out that much but i like to here and there. Not being able to go out for a movie, a meal or socialising with friends IRL has been easily replaced with online gaming, movies at home and occasionally messaging on apps.

I think it's because i'm not the type to be out every day or weekend like clockwork that i'm more accustomed to the change but god help those who don't have a stockpile of games and movies

I'm in Yorkshire near Leeds is probably the most well known City i could name. Hopefully the UK measures help and we can resume things as normal sooner rather than later. I mean, looking for a job has been put on the back burner but i am concerned whether there will be opportunities for me or whether i will struggle as businesses struggle to pay for employees when hiring again and finding a job like i want is gold dust.

Of course it doesn't match, it's because we don't live in what amounts to a dictatorship. China locked off Wuhan when they realised it was going to spiral out of control, not the kind of "do it for everyone, there's a good gentleman" approach of the Western powers but PROPERLY locked off Wuhan. They shut down the highways and public transport, confined people to their homes (ensuring deliveries of food and supplies to apartment blocks) and even surrounding provinces blocked off access roads so that people couldn't drive out of there even if they wanted to. They did this TWO MONTHS AGO so it's no wonder that, with virtually no social contact (and whatever was done was strictly controlled) the virus has largely died out in the local population since then. Tin foil hat optional.

Years of empty inboxes and unanswered messages on dating sites/apps have prepared me to deal with this calamity with the greatest of ease.

Still, social distancing is not everything that it's cracked up to be. It's one thing when you’re married with children, but it’s tough when you live alone. I always like going to restaurants and such on most days, just because, for a few seconds, another person is smiling at me and asking if they can help get me something. Even though I know it’s their job, that’s still a nice part of my normal day. Right now, though, that’s not even a part of daily life.

The concert cancellations and running race cancellations are bumming me out, because these things give me something to look forward to on any given month. My introvert self gets to enjoy a cohesive community time with like-minded people at such events, and it's rough to have them removed from my schedule.
