I just finished watching the video and it’s pretty disturbing. I advise people to not watch it as I feel it will cause people here to panic even more. I’m already fearing for my life now after watching that.

I was supposed to go on a cruise in May....

The cruise line has given me the option to re-book at no charge. Delta is also offering to give me a travel voucher of some kind to apply towards a future flight. Right now the CDC is saying to not get on a cruise ship so I can see most of these upcoming cruises getting canceled altogether. I'll likely cancel my cruise but I'm going to wait it out a few more weeks and see how this all unfolds. Surprisingly..the cruise line is allowing me to cancel up to 24 hours before embarkation.

It’s not worth risking your health for a cruise. I’d cancel as soon as possible and ask for my money back. You can always go on another cruise when everything gets better.

Sorry, all. I should clarify that I only watched the beginning of the video. Claiming that 45 million people could die and the math that was done to achieve that number was enough for me to draw my own conclusions as to the accuracy of the remainder of the video. It is based solely on my opinion. The quote from the WHO asking scientists to stop "throwing around figures that there is no basis for" can be found in many articles and is not my opinion. It is fact.

The video was pretty good actually though the death toll is honestly a bit low. if half the world gets the virus thats around 4billion people getting sick and only 40 million dying would put the the mortality rate at just 1%. The numbers are probably going to be considerably worse unless we massively slow down the growth rate or the thing dies off on its own in a couple of months. We really dont have any basis for the mortality rate to be that low and like it said in the video the only real treatment for this thing is ventilators and o2 etc which we have a limited supply of.

Hand sanitizer is just an alternative to regular soap and water. I've already burned into my brain that soap and water is what we should use but public restrooms are hard to find. Another option when soap isn't available: use vinyl gloves whenever you're out in public. Just don't touch your face with them. Staying away from people who are coughing may be more difficult in confined spaces like a crowded subway but moving away from someone in the only other thing we can do to prevent infection. One thing I'm NOT doing is hiding under a rock. Sorry - I have a life to live.

Do you know how to take your gloves off properly? It may sound weird but there is a proper way. Do a Google search to find out how if you don't know. Then test yourself. There's an easy way. Put on a pair of gloves and then squirt some ketchup on them and spread it all over the gloves. It doesn't take much. Now, remove the gloves without getting any ketchup on you. Also, make sure you're washing with soap and water ASAP after using gloves OR hand sanitizer.

Some colleges are temporarily canceling classes while they work on a way to make it possible for everyone to take online classes.

Cases in my state seem to be doubling every few days.

I have no idea why they haven't canceled the St. Patrick's Day parade here yet. I think it will eventually, but they should have done it already, so anyone traveling could make proper adjustments, etc..
