Nah. Back when this all started there was a legit paper, all peer reviewed, scientific etc. It gave 5 possible ways this virus happened. In the end they felt an accidental release from the Wuhan lab the most likely. A few weeks later it was mysteriously 'retracted'...

Nothing to do with the fact Quebec is the largest province or anything, must be solely the incompetence on the side of the people. Right.

Well that's ironic. Their minister was on the news the other day saying the reports from the doctor [not a whistle-blower] were discounted because he wasn't the right kind of doctor. So I take it all the government officials reading the reports are World renowned virologists? He was also keen to say epidemic instead of the P-Word.

If I remember a scientist that works there made a report to suggesting there was a link, but later recanted the whole thing as a figurative drunk-text ...

Nope. I've been checking on an hourly basis. Depending on who you listen to, payments were supposed to have started going out last Friday 4/10 and continue until the end of this week. With my luck they're probably going to send mine last. I'm also still waiting for my State tax refund. Going on 5 weeks now. I thought electronic filing was supposed to be fast.

I also read somewhere that some people will receive up to $4,700. Does this include per-child payments?

I've had to get creative when it comes to re-using face masks, from putting them inside baggies to sticking them in the fridge in between uses. I know doing this probably isn't sanitary but these things are hard to find. And expensive.

I wouldn't refrigerate it. Viruses survive longer in colder temperatures (possibly up to 2 years or more in a freezer ), so I'd say it's better to just leave them out at room temperature, ideally by a window or something where it can get some sunlight.

Whenever I use a mask, I only touch the earloops to put it on, then I use a napkin to squeeze the nose bridge part if necessary, and then I remove it by the earloops to take it off and drop it face down on a table. I feel like that's safe enough

Umm, isn’t a non sanitary mask defeating the whole point of having a mask?

Fear. In Dorval the staff quit...31 dead...seniors (older patients).
In Laval, 21 dead.

In Quebec, in France, in the USA, ...fear. ...Lack of equipment, quality masks, protective gear, etc. It's not easy a pandemic when we're not ready and not properly equipped.
It takes time to work it out, to adapt, to submit, to zoom in on the scope of it all.

Yesterday's data is too little too late. We are gathering the data as we go, with a lot of sacrifices and tears in our eyes.

Hang on ...

In the oven, better than the freezer. ...Microwave oven?

* The freezer is good for audio cables and 4K Blu-rays.

[Show spoiler]I explained this yesterday.

It's not 38% of all who get it.

It's 38% so far of all reported cases. Big difference.

Again, do the math. Here, I'll do the math for you again.

https://www.medpagetoday.com/infecti.../covid19/85354

US figures:

451,491 - Total confirmed cases in the US RIGHT NOW
40,728 - Total resolved cases (both recovered and deaths)
15,938 - total deaths
24.790 - total recovered
410,763 - unresolved

38% of 40,728 (total resolved cases) is 15,476 - which is about what the current death tally is (15,938).

Which means out of the resolved cases so far, 38% of all reported infections have died. Based on the 40,728 resolved cases, 38% so far have died and 62% have recovered.

Again, that does not mean 38% of all who get it will die. I have explained this multiple times already. That 451,491 total cases are just those that are reported, and many of those are very sickly or elderly, already in hospitals, or have already died before being tested. So up to now, 38% of those who have either recovered or died have died. It's simple math. All the rest of those unresolved cases (410,763) will either die or recover. So far, the trend has been 38% die.

That doesn't mean 38% of all who get it will die. As I said, the vast majority will either have no symptoms or light to moderate, requiring no hospitalization. They're saying the fatality rate is hovering around 2%, but that's just based on what we know so far. The vast majority of the public still has not been tested. That 2% may become less if we learn more people are infected already but didn't have serious symptoms
.
ok, ill bite....

the reason i say its a ridiculous statistic is because the "test" is incomplete, therefore meaningless. the sample size you are getting 38% from is so minuscule, the mention of it is clearly only used to push your stance on something. it literally tells us nothing. if those numbers hold up over time, then sure, you'll have a leg to stand on but until then, throwing out numbers like that is irresponsible and also meaningless. also, as you mentioned, the majority of people getting tested are very bad cases for the most part which in turn have a much higher chance of dying from Covid in general, otherwise, they would bt told to stay home and self quarantine and not even get tested. so, stats without perspective are pointless. need to look at everything from all angles are draw conclusions, not just take a tiny fraction and deduce from them

thats not really true either as its already been confirmed that doctors writing death certificates are literally being told to write Covid-19 as the cause of death if that is the likelihood. meaning, even without the patient ever having been tested, doctors are being instructed to write Covid-19. thats never happened before. in the past, if a person died of pneumonia which was onset by influenza, the cause of death would never be written on the deather certificate as influenza, it would be pneumonia. yet, theyre being instructed to speculate and do the opposite now. very strange

It's mostly for show. Masks are now mandatory in NY and NJ (maybe other places as well) even just to go to the Supermarket. Masks don't offer real protection anyway - they're meant to protect others from becoming infected since we're all supposed to be carriers. BTW, the "experts" are now saying reopening the economy should be dependent on widespread testing. I take this to mean that 350 million Americans would need to get tested in order to be given the OK to get back to work. They couldn't test people in the beginning - why would they be able to achieve widespread testing now? I don't think I want to know whether or not I've had the virus
