Gottlieb, during an appearance on CNBC's Squawk Box, said people shouldn't "put any stock" in a single antibody result, because the current tests on the market are churning out a high rate of false positives, which could lead people who don't have immunity to think they're safe. If those people repeat the tests, though, their chances of getting an accurate result increase.

He also said he's fairly confident antibodies do point to some immunity, meaning it's unlikely people would get re-infected, or, if they do, they probably would experience a mild case since the body is more experienced at fighting the virus. The question, of course, is how long that immunity lasts.

Thanks for posting that. I'm still waiting for the results and not sure how I feel either way. A friend went and got hers done a day after mine. She's negative.

The more I think about this article, the more I think they're going a step too far over in Scotland:

People will be asked to repeatedly self-isolate for 14 days at a time if they inadvertently come into contact with strangers found to have coronavirus, Nicola Sturgeon has warned.

They will attempt to identify anyone who has been within 2m of a confirmed Covid-19 case for at least 15 minutes, who be asked to go into isolation to help prevent the virus spreading further.

But the blueprint admitted this would be "challenging" and interrupting chains of transmission will mean asking "close contacts, who may not even know the person with Covid-19, to self-isolate for 14 days."

That's, simply put, unrealistic and unachievable. So you're sitting 2 seats away from somebody at a hair salon waiting your turn and that weekend you're contacted and expected to go into isolation just because the person 2 chairs away tested positive for it? 2 Weeks later you have a customer come into your work and spends 15 minutes discussing something, or you're at a meeting, and that weekend you get contacted again and are expected to go into isolation for another 2 weeks?! And that's in a hotel, not your own home! And this can repeat indefinitely, just because an app triggers your locations being nearby somebody who has it?

Come on, this is going too far. That's an unrealistic burden and will basically mean more people will lose jobs if they suddenly have to disappear for 2 weeks even if they aren't sick just because an app says so. Plus, as the article says, there can be false positives as people in apartments can trigger false positives just by being on opposite walls, due to bluetooth picking up through the walls. It could easily pick up your neighbor on the opposite wall to your apartment. I have a neighbor directly on the other side of my wall, and my bluetooth picks up his laptop every time I do a search for bluetooth devices.

There's a point where some ideas are just not feasible, and will do more harm than good, and this crazy idea is one of them.

That's why the Oxford vaccine seems more promising. It's already vetted for a while now, and found to be safe for humans.They pretty much switched out one coronavirus for the COVID one, and it so far effective on macaques, and now being tested on humans. We'll know as soon as 2 months from now whether it's working.

What would opening up do to fix the processing plants that are filled with infected people? The lack of processing is the reason why millions of animals are being euthanized..Opening up doesn't solve that. You also don't need to open up for smaller packing or processing centers to be created. He's being pretty hyperbolic with his title, and his rhetoric to be honest. This is fodder for

Open it up with people who have been tested and take temperatures each day. Once these people go out of business then there goes the meat and vegetable supply. More people will die of starvation than Covid.
