You sure about that?

The movie wasn’t as good as the book.

so we should not look at science, medicine and history, but by your wishful thinking?

consecutive waves are more or less always worst. It is the simple reality.
Right now there are some people that are tired of physical distancing and there are some that think they are invulnerable and some that have economic issues . A month ago there were a lot less people that fell in that category. By the second wave there will be a lot more and that makes it harder to control (and it is not just people, but companies and governments as well)

The only thing that can mitigate those factors are solutions (vaccines, treatmenst….)

Most people don't read books though. I was pretty surprised how many people I know who were tagged on Facebook to share the 10 most influential books and the majority of replies were like "I don't think I've read ten books in my entire life" or at least that weren't school related. These are college graduates and some with masters, Ph.Ds, etc. I'd imagine even many of the people skipped reading assigned books to use Cliff's Notes and internet resources as well. Not coronavirus related but just something I found amusing.

I know to some grocery shopping is a chore but I actually enjoy it, looking through the flyers deciding on the different stuff from the different stores, picking exactly the fresh stuff (fruits, vegetables, meats, fish...) you want to buy, hitting 2-5 stores every week.

Now every week I look at most of the fliers, pick a store every week or two(or three) and order by delivery or express pickup (where you stay in the car call them when you are there and they put it in your car).

groceries is something extremely few (if any) can do without. But like you said people need to minimize their chances of getting the virus even with groceries.

I gave my opinion, and if you disagree strongly with it then fine. No need for the lead-in sentence. You're always looking for arguments when you show up.

451 UK
398 France
309 Netherlands
301 Sweden
284 Ireland

1) population age
2) medical infrastructure
3) when things close down
4) How much things close down.

It was kind of like Waitr before such a thing existed and through one company. The guy might've even gone the extra mile to help load everything into our freezer as well. Looking around online, it seems they may have gone downhill in recent years and they're probably an antiquated option with all the competition from apps and similar services. But it was a fun kind of service to have in the 90s and seemed like a pretty cool, exclusive thing at the time.
I tried them out for the first time a month ago with a 50% off promo. Since then I've only made one other order. They really cost too much and I have to go to work anyway so I'd rather just go to the grocery store.

Messed up editing the post. But it was definitely a nice experience in the 90s since they had a lot of options you couldn't typically find elsewhere, especially if you didn't live in a city or close to one. We always had the same driver and he was really patient. Our freezer was all the way back on the other end of the property and from what I recall he'd help carry a lot of it. Prices were pretty high back then too from what I remember, although I was a kid. We got it more for the variety and consistency over convenience since there were grocery stores nearby at the time. But they didn't offer premium steaks, fish, etc.

They should go the Trader Joe's route and offer "premium" specialty products to justify their prices. Nobody wants to pay $15 for a strip steak but a $15 "Restaurant-Style NY Strip with Excusive Schwan's Rub"? $$$.

Who would enforce it? I went for a bike ride yesterday for about a mile and I saw 4 groups not socially distancing properly. The group that was trying the least was the group of cops. They had like 8 squad cars in one spot and like 8 cops shoulder to shoulder talking and only one had a mask and he had the thing down around his neck.

Haven't seen the video and your comments will make sure I avoid it, but I'd imagine that the news clips would at least fall under Fair Use, if the work was transformative.

YouTube set up new guidelines to take down videos that they perceive are against the public's best interest with regards to Crisis.

“Anything that would go against World Health Organization recommendations would be a violation of our policy.”

Mrs Wojcicki added YouTube had seen a 75% increase in demand for news from "authoritative" sources.

Last week, Facebook announced users who had read, watched or shared false Covid-19 information would receive a pop-up alert urging them to visit the WHO's website.
The copyright strikes are generally automatic, so they can be countered, but if the video goes against the new guidelines then it will be removed.

It doesn't help that media outlets like CBS, deemed authoritative and reliable by YouTube have been caught re-using news footage in one case and "sexing" up a story about testing queues (where they took medical professionals away from patients to pose as people waiting in a queue to be tested) to make them look longer.

Or maybe it's just an affirmation that the lockdowns aren't as effective as they're made out to be and it's more simple social distancing than anything else (although I think the lockdowns here were mostly necessary, since people here are less likely to respect them if they're weren't a lockdown first.)
Europe is a continent, not a country. And yes it did play a pivotal role in the spread of Covid-19 (i.e. the strains in most of the world evolved from the European strain - there has been over 30 strains of Covid-19 identified so I don't know what "this strain" means)

But the first death in Sweden was March 11 and the first death in the US was February 6, the strain in the US appears to have come from Europe, the one in Sweden from China.

Some places locked down more ( for example in Greece just to leave your home you had to text a hotline when, why, who, address and get the OK and have your phone to prove the OK ) others like Sweden less (to the point where lockdown does not seem right) but they asked businesses and people to do their part, they asked high schools and colleges to shut down but did not legally enforce any of it. But it is far from business as normal. That pic of idiots having a beer at a bar together in Sweden is similar to the one of idiots on a beach in Florida or idiots at the park here in Montreal.

These kind of articles infuriate me. They should summarily execute the publisher...

The article title is 'Study on genetic mutation suggests COVID-19 could 'weaken'.

And then near the end of the article it states:

"But the research team says that it’s too soon to know if the virus is beginning to weaken."
