That’s in my neck of the woods. I should just go to the source at this point.

Yup, the effect on the global economy will be massive & last decades. Think of all those airlines going bust for a start. It's going to effect everything, will the studios want to release any big films now? Who's going to the cinema? Sorry to be all gloom & doom, but I think the economic effect will probably end up killing more people in the long term that the actual virus.

Although no one knows for sure how Home entertainment will be I am certain of one thing. If Blockbuster Video was still around all them stores would be extremely busy!

Yeah, but normally they all open up for business the next day. After 9:00 PM today, they will only be allowed to serve take-out and delivery orders until further notice.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, made the morning show rounds on Sunday, answering questions from news anchors about the ongoing outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the United States.

Fauci, who is considered the top expert on infectious diseases in the United States and is a member of President Donald Trump's coronavirus task team, spoke at length during appearances on Fox News Sunday, ABC's This Week, NBC's Meet The Press, and CNN's State Of The Union. In each appearance, he stressed the importance of containing and slowing the number of COVID-19 cases, the official name of the disease caused by the new coronavirus strain.

However, while speaking to Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace, Fauci also listed three reasons why COVID-19 is different from the flu or another virus when asked by Wallace to explain it to those who might not understand.

"One thing, it's brand new, so we don't have any prior experience about what it's gonna do, what its dynamics are gonna be," Fauci said. "Number two, it spreads very easily, there's no doubt about that. It isn't like some of the outbreaks that we had that just didn't adapt itself to spread among humans. And number three, it's very serious in the sense of morbidity/mortality, particularly among, and very heavily weighted towards, individuals who are more susceptible — the elderly and those with underlying conditions."

Or people would stay home as they've been instructed to and rent through Vudu or other digital means.

My Jumanji steelbook from Best Buy has yet to be shipped and it comes out on Tuesday. But by Saturday I usually receive a shipping notification but not this time. So I wonder if hasn't shipped because of shortage in wearhouse where they ship them from. Read from one of my Facebook groups a few people already has thier copy. This Coronavirus can effect shipping to customers as well.

In Illinois, where I live, our governor ordered the closure of dine-in service for all bars and restaurants statewide until March 30th. They can only sell food via "curbside" takeout, drive thru windows, or by delivery. It remains to be seen if restrictions will be placed on other non-essential businesses; the governor here is trying to prevent as many crowded situations as possible.

Here’s hoping this kinda thing doesn’t speed up the inevitable demise of physical media

Same here in California. Hope this doesn't drag out for too long. In the mean time I'll be watching movies with my girlfriend.

Not unless people who care about quality stop caring in the next year.

Amazon is no longer offering same day or one day delivery near me. Everything is now showing Thursday or Friday delivery. The virus must be effecting shipping.

Seems like that would benefit streaming mostly.
