So is this a sign of more frequent testing in the US or just a case of it being more readily available for the financially fortunate? Idris Elba said outright that he's showing no symptoms.

Right now its just nerves, as mentioned before I'm not worried about myself just others. Especially my mom. Cause of her chest issues. I'm sure she'll be fine but it's still a worry. Ya know?

Highly doubtful, still reading posts from nurses that there is still a very strict policy on who gets tested. Even if you have symptoms.

Did it occur to you that some people may talk about this stuff as a coping mechanism during these difficult times? Are you suggesting we only discuss coronavirus and how topsy turvy our lives have become? I'd rather talk about slipcovers than toilet paper.

Idris has been in contact with someone recently who tested positive.therfore, he was tested.

also, testing is said to now be free, so no worries there...

surely, if youre famous and want to get tested just for the heck of it, im sure they will be able to do so. such is life

This morning, my 77 year-old father called because he developed chills out of the clear blue in a sudden way, and had a fever of 101. My brother and I both told him to take some Tylenol and call a doctor if the fever did not go down soon.

A few hours later, he now feels normal. He thinks that it's just a “six hour virus” that has been going around lately. Just the same, I told him to rest, rest, and rest.

I've had a cough since Thursday and a light fever starting over the weekend. I was worried, but since there's been no cases near by I figured I'd hold off on testing. Someone confirmed positive this morning in the town where I went grocery shopping last week. Needless to say I've made some calls today. Have a return call at 10 am tomorrow to see about scheduling my own test. Wooooo.

Good luck.

Would you rather I wish you don't have it, or have it and you get over it rather quickly?

Goodluck, I hope it goes well. Hope you are ok, hopefully just one of those minor bugs that'll poof soon.

Sadly, this has never been reason enough for a member of the general public to be tested.

Hoping it’s nothing related to that particular illness. Feel better soon, and be safe in the meantime.

Been feeling a lot of anxiety over this lately, rational or otherwise. Not so much for myself but my Mum, who's immune system is terrible. She often gets ill and always fights through it, but I'm scared this could be really bad.

I had a ruptured appendix accompanied by a life-threatening infection in 2018.
I had 12 inches of my colon removed in 2019 because of a precancerous mass that was found in my cecum.

In both instances, I reassured myself by asking, ”What is the absolute worst thing that could possibly happen to me?”

I realized that the absolute worst thing was that I could die. I told myself, ”If that happens, then so #$&@ing what?” I just shrugged it off and stopped worrying.

It’s a lot different right now, however, when the health of my loved ones is on the line. It’s scary when our parents and others are in danger.

I can't find eggs at stores in los angeles. Apparently Stater Bros had a small shipment in (if you lined up before the store opened) and Aldi has a good supply, and Costco if you really want to line up early.

May we live in interesting times, amirite fellas?

Oh and my dentist shut down the office for 3 weeks. I currently have a temporary crown. Guess I hope it stays on, or else I'd have to go to emergency dental care if the cement/glue doesn't work.

Damn! I ran in for a cleaning a lil while back because I figured they'd be closing. Sorry to hear it.
