![]() Adam’s reporting should keep readers busy….and Leon didn’t even pay tribute to the annual softball skirmishes at past retreats. Every day of tech retreat rocks as it’s a virtual cornucopia of information. It’s been sold out for something like the past 14 years. Past presentations (like during the time when Avatar was in viewers’ consciousness) given by people as diverse as Professors of Optometry from Berks….http://bankslab.berkeley.edu/ who know something or other about stereo display - http://www.journalofvision.org/content/11/8/11.full and unlike video journalists or bloggers amateurishly pontificating on the internet about human visual capabilities and 4K perception, Marty could answer the vision question as to which pathology was responsible if a patient were to present to him where refraction showed a myoptic shift of from 20/25 sph -7.75 to now 20/40 -9.25 in his OS which now has a new finding of a generalized hazy moderate cataract….and also a new finding of the formation of a thin ERM that is causing lack of the normal foveal contour. to casual personal conversations about a corporate “giant-slayer” by the name of Mr. Chu ![]() to this year, an Academy Award winner (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...sh#post8701428) conversing about the legalities of color. The best show/conference/retreat there is, in my opinion. |

I never feared 2020 not being supported by HEVC because generally a codec like HEVC doesn’t care about different colorimetry….just have the codec developer gurus review and possibly tweak the quantization matrices in order to handle the different distributions of transformed luminance data when CL (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ce#post8467171) is used and should be pretty much good to go. ![]() |

![]() I couldn’t pick up your match in my neck of the woods (it was on a station I don’t receive) but, I read one post game analysis which said that your boys well represented themselves…and their city, even looking the better side of the two finalists? Congrats ![]() |

Such as evidence that Vernier acuity (http://arapaho.nsuok.edu/~salmonto/v.../Lecture21.pdf) even using for their study a conservatively higher threshold of 10 arc seconds is still applicable at testing distances as far as 8 m. from a 1800 x 1440 resolution 21 inch sized display surface - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3293147/ ….something not taken into account with popular consumer-distributed outdated viewing charts from 2006 based upon the assumption that “one arc minute of resolution is “a best-case scenario” for humans possessing ‘20/20 vision’.

And cougars….and, if one goes alone unprepared….the elements at around 5,000 ft. altitude.
He literally died with his boots on….http://www.ocregister.com/articles/m...iff-wrote.html on a trail/fire road I occasionally ride and have raced in past annual ‘Warrior’ events. |

My personal belief as well as that of an unscientific consensus among experienced bikers whom I’ve spoken to this week that are familiar with riding that route in all types of conditions (including snow at the very top (*power* slides on a mountain bike can be challenging fun
![]() What makes the situation look kind of lousy esp. to locals familiar with the route is that family members (non-professional search and rescue types) were capable of making it up the mountain in darkness in the wee hours of the morning; whereas, the superbly equipped pro rescuers didn’t go for him. |
