Missed this first time around, congratulations. Will await your comments on the player. Would like to know the media player capabilities via Android or iOS apps.

Indeedy, comparing it to the X10 movies will be the real tester.

Ah, um, I won't be touching the network/online side of things with a bargepole. It's just not my bag. I'll plug in a USB stick or HDD to test the 4K video playback but that'll be the extent of it I think. Sorry.

"You’ll also need a high speed HDMI cable – there’s one included with the player."

HDMI.org recommends using a Category 2 cable but chances are your Cat1 cable will work just fine.

Seems like a pretty in depth review, nice looking player too especially compared to the ugly curved Sammy.

Hahaha, good old 3DO. I bet you've been waiting ages to unleash that zinger...but it's not like this is some proprietary format, is it? Panasonic have made the best Blu-ray players I've ever used, and I've had a few (20 at last count), so I'm all in on their UHD player.

I like the 3do kinda, but I love a scrappy underdog even one that mangey
Plus 3do was supported by Sanyo and Lucky Goldstar

I want a pioneer UHD spinner but want to see reviews on this

Would have to wait and see reviews on the Pioneer nowadays. Ownership of Onkyo receivers in the past has never ended well. Their involvement in the Pioneer brand does not instill me with much confidence

As I say I wait on it all for new tech in reviews
And I agree, but I like to think they will put their own work in
