We're told our DMP-UB900 allocation will arrive end of August.
Panasonic was very kind to lend us 5 UB900 4K BD player for our TV Shootout evaluation event last week. They performed flawlessly. |

It's not the world's greatest all-round player EVER and it's a damned shame about the USB playback (no HEVC and ****-all power in the USB so I can't use my portable HDDs) but apart from that I like it a lot. |

^ yes, technically it supports HDDs via the NTFS compatibility, but the drive will need an external power source as the USB is very underpowered (it even says in the manual that you can't use it to charge USB devices).

Query for all the panasonic owners, mine has just decided to not play any Atmos soundtracks on not just UHD but on normal Blu Ray.
I have checked using my Oppo and the amp is fine as that plays Atmos no problem. Done a reset and still the same, anybody else had this? or any ideas? And yes i have re wired with a different HDMI, tried different inputs on the amp. It is as if the Pana has suddenly decided it does not recognise Atmos. Not sure as i havent played one for a few days but this may be the first time since the last firmware update last week? Thanx in advance |

They seem to go either way with USB, it's either too hot or cold, just like that lass with her porridge ... some USBs on the newest TVs could almost charge another TV!

Thanks for all the replies guys, did another reset today and it's fixed itself without being fixed.
Still going to keep an eye on it though, thank god for my reliable Oppo, now they just need to do a UHD player. |

The N.1 reason I bought the Samsung 8500 player was for Atmos use more so than for 4K viewing. I would be very upset to experience something like that after shelling out that much dough on a player

I know that this is not the thread for the Panasonic DX900/902 TV, but I can't find a thread for it, possibly because Panasonic have no plans to release it in the States.
I just saw both the 58" and 65" displaying 4K HDR content, and the PQ was stunning. These are FALD TV's, and here in NZ they are priced well below the equivalent Samsung range. Hopefully Panasonic will change their stance and release these models in the US. Couple either of them with the Panasonic DMP-UB900 player, and I think I would be in UHD heaven. |

About the firmware, we should send money to any member here to his paypal account, so one person buy it, and share the firmware with the rest. Same with future upgrades.

Unfortunately the firmware is tied to the specific MAC address of the individual player, if one person buys then it can't be transferred to another deck UNLESS someone has the right editor for altering the code of the firmware. It's not as simple as using a standard hex editor, I think it needs a specific Panasonic program to run it and that software is in the hands of a select few morons right now.
