Is there a URL where it can be located for individual purchase?

One UK company did sell it openly but they've stopped it now. Reading between the lines I think they had Panasonic lean on them to stop it because they're a retailer of Panasonic goods, whereas the aforementioned morons have no such ties so they're free to keep doing their "donation" bit. Sorry, but I'm not going to even quote the other site's name anymore, perhaps if you PM webw he can help.

There has been 3 firmware update releases already, and plenty more to come.

Count me in if someone finds a way to distribute te custom firmware and make it working!

I own lots of region 1 dvd's and region a blu rays and have a european Pana.

Really am looking for a way to make it region free and not having to pay 50 and 20 for each following update.

Very nice if true! But given how costly this player is they really should've looked at improving the USB functionality from the start. No HEVC playback is criminal.

October firmware update (google translated).

"In the first update (October) only files are supported, which are present in the MP4 container. The hardworking engineers at Panasonic work in parallel on a second update that yet to appear before the end of 2016. Then also MKV and TS files are supported by HEVC-encoded content."

Default 24p for mkv playback?

If this has already been asked, I apologize. Also, can it bitstream DTS HD MA and DOLBY TRUE HD with mkv? Dolby hd is always a pain in the ass for most, if not all, players.

Exclamation Important notice to all owners!

Panasonic DMP-UB900;
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL OWNERS!
As some owners might have noticed, this UltraHD blu-ray player does not have the ability to output 10bit colour, which in turn creates some extremely annoying banding and macro-blocking issues on 10bit displays.
The player will only output in 8bit or 12bit colour which has caused many frustrations for owners of TVs such as Samsung & LG.
Please support us by signing this petition in order to assist Panasonic to recognize how important this is for UltraHD blu-ray and its customers.

When looking at sharpness patterns on 1080p Blu-ray (spears and munsil, in this case) they have obvious edge ringing. Setting the player's 'Edge Correction' feature to +1 eliminates the ringing completely.

During playback go into the Sharpness settings, you'll find it in there.

You guys should really have a read of the AVF thread though, it's likely that most questions will have been asked & answered already.
