Peter, don't get me started! The State is bankrupt but doesn't even realize it yet.

From the article:
Quote:
I'd rather keep the jobs in California,” but Florida is “more economical than California, I'm sorry to say,'' said Cliff Plumer, Digital Domain's chief executive
With the election results things aren't going to get any better.

Also, ILM is the best effects studio IMO, and they are based in SF, CA.

I think you have to reduce that by at least 50% since a lot of people go back: "WTF was that?"

Until the politicians in this state realize that jobs are mobile we will continue to go down hill.

As for ILM, I was there last month...what a great day that was. Movie memorabilia all over the place!

And in other 3D related news-

The Queen Goes 3D ….
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arts...=feeds-newsxml

Question is, will the Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate get the same 3D treatment like that of Prince Albert II of Monaco and his beautiful bride-to-be?
http://www.weddingsonthefrenchrivier...-ii-of-monaco/ < credit goes to my niece for sending me this link....I think, unless she’s already priming her uncle for a super expensive wedding gift when her day arrives.

And where the hell have you been?

Dude, recently I literally pass out while riding my bike during a mountain bike ride and break my beautiful nose in four places, subsequently fellow riders call 911 and the firefighters 4-wheel it into the National Forest to get me out to the paramedics to take me to the E.R., where they and I discover that I’m suffering from atrial fibrillation (think too much exercise for too many years can be BAD for you <- isn't that just ironic to the nth degree? ) and then they proceed to cardiovert me and I’m still here actively posting even with a poorly controlled cardiac arrhythmia. Next step will eventually most likely be a 6 hr. heart ablation procedure at Cedars.

So, what’s your excuse?

In regards to “why” for the upcoming Blu-ray release of Ishtar….It is to pay belated homage to the first camel (read the article)…who could have been a movie star rather than meeting an untimely, unpleasant fate.

You must be talking about Ishtar, a movie that stole 107 minutes of my life in 1987.

Here's the article: http://www.newyorker.com/online/blog...on-ishtar.html

I disagree with Richard Brody...I thought the movie stunk, although now that I'm older I may appreciate it more (I was 18 at the time), but I doubt it.

That was a pretty funny story. As for the movie, I love reading the taglines: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ishtar/

I guess there have been worse movies released over the past 23 years though. A few that come to mind are Gigli, Dude, Where's My Car, and My Bosses Daugher.

Well, I take comments like that about Ishtar and SPHE personally because I think the guy with the glasses, long nose and mustache in ‘Hell’s Video Store’ was the father of my girlfriend when I was a young whipper-snapper, see.....

http://www.threedonia.com/archives/28651/comment-page-1

Plus, I always felt sorry for that camel who never got chosen for the role.

I agree with him here "I will say this… I laughed during — not AT — the film more than a few times — and in the right places. That’s more than I can say at many Kevin Smith and Jud Apatow movies."

Especially regarding Apatow.

Duluth is where it's at, my friend...

Montreal, our most fabulous city for 2 months of the year. Otherwise it's a hellscape, but still has one of the finest restaurants on the planet:

And, yeah, it's still like it's on another planet... A good one, but still...
