Yeah my Sony is a great player but considering how much I spent on the Samsung I decided to just use it for my P Series and the Sony for my 2014 E Series.

In your case I assume you have two Vizio TVs (P and E) in two separate rooms, so that would make sense. In my case I only have one room with surround sound, Oled TV, and Sony projectors, so I can use both BD players in the same room alternately

I'm already using up all 4 HDMI inputs with the Samsung 4K player, the TiVo, my Apple TV, and my Roku so even if I wanted to connect my Sony BDP 6500 Blu-ray player as well, I couldn't unless I bought an HDMI splitter and I'm totally clueless as to the best one of those to get. Any suggestions?

Is there a reason to connect to samsung player rather than straight to the tv? I am using up all 4 hdmi on my oled. I've got my xbox one, soundbar, Samsung player and pc hooked up.

Had to take mine back to the store because it suddenly died and now they say they have lost it and can take up to six months to find it again and they wont give me a new one even though thats what they are suppose to do after testing it out themselves to make sure its dead. a sad day

If you have a 4K-ready amp you only need one connection from amp HDMI Out to TV HDMI 2 ARC

well other than freeing up more hdmi ports, there's no real advantage then.

Well I guess if your player had a better up conversion chip than your TV.

You can still have tv upconvert, even with single HDMI connection

What retailer did you buy it from? Or did you contact samsung itself?

I was watching 4k youtube clips last night when all of a sudden the player froze. And the screen went purple. I unplugged it. Haven't turned it back on since. Hope it's okay.

You won't know until you re-connect it (crossing fingers for you)

Last night I was having issues with this player with the picture blacking out several times during playback while watching a few different DVD's (it would happen every minute or two.) So I swapped the HDMI cable out and tried different ports on the TV and also tried playing the same DVD's on my ps3 and noticed no issues on my ps3. I ended up contacting Samsung customer support online and he walked me through how to do a Hard reset of the player. After that I've had no issues on the player so far (I'm crossing my fingers, since I did not buy an extended warranty on the player.) Note this player gets used lightly maybe twice a week. I'm running firmware 1007 on it (the latest one.) Has anyone else run into this issue with the latest firmware?

Are you referring to the Gamma setting under advanced picture settings? I don't have a Gamma 2.2 setting.

I'm gonna change the picture mode to Standard instead of Cinema next time I watch a 3D to see if it helps, bit brighter picture.

Trying to decide between the Samsung, Philips, and Xbox One S UHD players. Since I have a large collection of DVDs I was wondering which would
play them the best. I have seen some very contradictory reviews. From The Philips is "bad" at deinterlacing 480i to
another review saying the Philips was much better at displaying DVDs than the Samsung. I am hoping for advice from some people who have used
both for watching DVDs.

Also is there any consensus as to which is best for 4K HDR content?

FYI I will be getting a Samsung KS8000 to go with the player.

I'd rule out the xbox one. I've read a lot on multiple sites about folks returning their xbox ones becsuse it wouldn't play uhd.

Probably due to people using old HDMI cables.
