I watched Lights Out Sunday night, after 1.69, and all I can say is it looked great. But, I was saying that before 1.69.

Does the TV type matter? I tried some test patterns from avsforums too (r. masciola) and I still don't see anything, but not sure what to look for. |

• Which movie studios are supporting Dolby Vision on the 4K Blu-ray format...so far? • Panasonic OLED 4K TVs, any future Dolby Vision support? • Is Dolby Vision truly superior to HDR10? The above questions are for anyone, everyone. |

"However, on the subject of Disney, our sources tell that the studio is tentatively planning to begin releasing titles on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format by the end of 2017, but they’re in no rush for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that they’d like to see more Dolby Vision support across the CE industry. Walt Disney Studios and Dolby Laboratories have a close relationship and the studio has released a number of their big recent theatrical titles in Dolby Vision (including Doctor Strange, Moana, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). They have several more such films set for theatrical release this year (including Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, and Cars 3)." Is Dolby Vision superior to HDR? That's going to be a debate Im sure...I rather just have a tv and player that supports both. So far my OLED TV supports both, so I better get a player that does too and avoid the drama ![]() The UB900 is almost the perfect player imo, given the early adoption of 4k, almost! Plays everything flawlessly it seems, lots of user control, great upscaling and video performance. And.....no Dolby Vision support. Deal breaker for me especially with the asking price being rather high. ![]() Last edited by Caesu; 01-31-2017 at 11:12 PM. |

Sony, Universal, lionsgate and warner brothers are on board with dolby vision. panasonic and samsung are not on board with dolby vision, will have to wait for CES 2018 to confirm if they are then. in theory yes, dolby vision is superior. its basically a 4k HDR10 layer WITH another layer of 1080p dolby vision enchancments on top. we will only know how good it is once the discs start to roll out. i have big hopes for dolby vision and i hope it succeeds |

![]() [edit] But bear in mind this is just for BD upscaling, as the Edge Correction makes no difference at all to actual 4K content that I can see unless you're using the Luma sharpening controls, as I mentioned here in the Oblivion thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post13052470 Last edited by Geoff D; 02-01-2017 at 12:06 AM. |

Thanks that's good to know! That solidified my decision on the UB900 since I'm prefectly content with HDR on my B6 OLED

Hell, I'm prefectly content with converted SDR on my older Sony 4K because this player does such a good job with it. I could buy a fancy new TV for a couple of grand right this second but I'm having such a blast with UHD as it is, plus there's still several factors to be decided with regards to HDR, that I'm gonna wait and see.
Now that I think of it, I've got about 17 months left on the 5 year guarantee on my TV so I might as well wait that out, and by summer 2018 we should have a MUCH better idea of HDR's whys and wherefores. |

1. What is banding? I'm a TV and audio noob. ![]() 2. Is there any way to stop the pop-up of messages? I.E. Network connection started, Now reading, BD-Video Play 4K/24p, etc. 3. I finally got my TV to display 4:4:4 by enabling the Enhanced HDMIs. 4. Is Fury Road 4K supposed to be displayed in 4K/24p? Last edited by Scottie; 02-03-2017 at 03:18 AM. |

I threw in John Wick.
I was playing the movie and then stopped it at the very beginning to return to the Home Screen and double check that resetting my TV to factory settings last night (because it was glitching) didn't mess up the 4:4:4 that I had going on. It didn't so I hit "Video" and "Disc" and now the UHD Player won't read the movie. ![]() ![]() ![]() Any idea how to fix this? I probably should've tried another movie before I posted this. However, I'm too flustered to bother. EDIT: Fury Road in 4K works as does the standard John Wick BD. Maybe the broken case, broken slipcover, and everything else about the copy that arrived in my mailbox is just screwed up. Last edited by Scottie; 02-07-2017 at 11:58 PM. |

You guys were right, I thought my B6 was doing upscaling just fine but the UB900 makes blu-ray's look like 4k ramastered transfers. The colors and sharp picture it produces looks so right and makes things really pop!

Case issued with Panasonic directly.
![]() My second copy of John Wick arrived today but it still wouldn't work. At the suggestion of a forum member I factory reset my player. However, this only temporarily fixes the problem. If I stop the 4K disc and attempt to resume it in any form (even shutting off the player) I get a no signal error message and "0:00:00" on the front display. What's really crazy is that after letting it go for several minutes it eventually loaded once for me. Still, I'm not satisfied. I should be hearing back in 24-48 hours. Let's hope this issue gets fixed. ![]() I just find it bizarre how everything else has managed to work thus far (4K and standard BD alike) except for this film. |

The messed-up thing is that I even tried two different UB700's! But they both had the exact same trouble so I gave up, got a refund on it, bought a UB900 and the first disc I tried on it was MJ Pt2. Worked like a charm, loaded up first time and played glitch free. I hope I don't get any trouble with John boy when he arrives ![]() |

For what it's worth, do you mind throwing in your disc, pressing the "Home" button, and then try to resume it?
