I didn't get a reply to my first e-mail from Barnes & Noble last week, or it got lost in my inbox, so I sent them another message the other day, to organise replacements for Hot Fuzz, Hellboy 2 and The Mummy

If I realised I was going to have so much hassle using B&N, then I wouldn't have bothered

Based on your trolling behavior in this thread, it actually was.

Did these steelbooks beat you up and take your lunch money or something?

If you have a membership to Costco check that. I found a shit load of them for 11.99. I picked up 2 copies of 300, then 1 of Scarface, Scott Pilgram, Hulk, and a couple other for the wife I forgot about. Was really hoping I ran into The Big Lewboski. Love that movie

These are on Amazon (or at least were) for $11.99 each. I took advantage and got Shaun of the Dead, Paul and Scarface. The comic book-styled design is actually perfect for the former two, seeing how Pegg and Frost embrace genre fare.

I just found out about these a month or so ago. Picked up a copy of Shaun of the dead since its my favorite comedy and by far my fav of all of this line of steelbook films. I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of a blu blu ray banner at the top on the front, sides, and back though. I also don't like that it feels much more plasticy than my steelbook of Black ops 2 and my Live free or die hard DVD.

I'm actually considering picking up Scott pilgrim again just for the Steelbook, despite already owning a bluray of it, since that's a favorite as well. I also want hot fuzz (more because I LOVE Pegg and wright than the movie itself, which I thought was ok), Scarface, pitch black (and MAYBE Chronicles), the big lebowski, and hellboy 2 (why no copy of 1 as well??)

Anyone know how long these types of editions tend to be available before all the prices skyrocket as they run out of copies? I can't really afford many of these right now, so it might be as much as 6 months to a year before I can get them (because these aren't the only blurays I plan to purchase).

1) not really
2) of course they are only for collectors. The whole point of making copies on steelbook or in those book type cases when a flick is already released on blu is 90% of the time for collectors. Frankly, I'm surprised there are even non-collectors on this forum, or at least said non-collectors actually posting.

damn it! sorry about the double post. I only really frequent one forum and it has a thing that auto merges if you post again within a certain amount of time. I always forget most don't have that.
