I know what you mean, I've bought over £100 worth of discs from decluttr (all yet to arrive, lol) in the past month and not a penny has come out of my pocket, it's all from the proceeds of sales of discs I've upgraded, discs I no longer want and, of course, dem UV codes. Still can't believe you netted £24 from the matrix trilogy, that's insane. But then I got almost £7 for the UV code of Time After Time so it all works out in the end.

Agreed. The HDR brightness is just way too much. Might need to put on some sun glasses to watch this

the skin tone is way off too. I had to put in another 4k movie thinking something was wrong with my tv but it turned out only this move is like this.

Received my pre-order steelie from Best Buy yesterday and watched it last night.

Overall, I'm very happy with this one. Like many others here, the brightness in a couple of outdoor scenes is WAY bright and a bit washed out, but that was only for a few scenes. Everything else, including skin tones, looked great to me. Especially the underwater scenes. And the shark scenes, of course.

Only drawbacks for me with this movie at all was some of the dialog and the fact that I didn't notice that Rainn Wilson was in the cast lineup. Ugh. He played a greasy douche in The Office, and he played the same in this flick. Thankfully, I was able to tune him out in many of his scenes, so it wasn't a dealbreaker for my enjoyment of The Meg.

Overall, I'm more than pleased with the movie; the picture; the sound and everything save for one actor and a few overblown/overbright daylight scenes.

Overboard?

Seriously, though, hope Warner’s supposed treatment of this title doesn’t mean bad things for the Crazy Rich Asians UHD. That disc should be even more of a stunner than The Meg if they do it correctly

You think you have Meg problems... try watching a bit starved blu ray that looks like it was released 10 years ago... i swear studios are intentionally sucking the potential out of blu ray just to make UHD look better. Why else would a new movie like Meg come out with only 19 mbps leaving so much empty space on a BD-50? Sony not putting dolby atmos on blu ray but are more generous with UHD?

Solo was shot twice so it's a fake comparison and even shot twice the budget still wasn't quite as large as you list. And it was very well regarded, The Meg was fine, but Solo rated much better.

Overboard lol well played sir.
But yeah, it seems like the guy who was mastering this for the UHD was having way too much fun with HDR grading.

Can’t wait for this. Can’t go wrong, massive shark and Jason Statham. I’ve placed the HMV sb as my Xmas stocking filler present this year.

Dumping 3D discs, I can't even imagine that.

Oh well, I'm doing the exact opposite. Since I have enough coasters, 2D discs from 3D Blu-rays are completely useless to me.

Sorry. Ultimately the Studio spent rather wasted $300m on a Block-dud-ster.

He is the saviour for imports now. eBay keeps giving out £10 vouchers offers (if you sell x amount during certain periods). I’m picking up stuff from him at like £5-£6 delivered and he delivers fast.
Skyscraper on way and most releases I’m going through him. Except this as I really like the SB artwork and cannot think of anything I want for a Christmas stocking filler.

I need to calm my tits.

I planned on picking up a load of stuff in New York new month and as this rate, there'll be f*** all left except Evil Dead II and The Shield BD set, (if that's not delayed again).

Hate to say it but this review is correct on the 4K HDR. It's way too bright. The regular blu ray is a better viewing experience.

What if I told you...the Sun is bright? Maybe going to the beach/ocean should look like you're at The Holiday Inn?

i checked back the website review in terms of PQ (Michael Reuben) on UHD page he gave UHD 4/5 and gave blu-ray 4.5/5 but on the blu-ray page he gave blu-ray 3.5/5... what the hell...
