Total Recall was 2K.
There's nothing wrong with going from 2.8K to 4K. Unlike 2K you actually get that .8 when you do a 4K master. Skyfall was done this way.

But then the list should be titled 2.8K+ movies. I don't think anything on your list was shot, rendered, and had 4K DI. Look into The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo, it may actually have a 4K DI and I know it was shot at 4K with the Red.

Men in Black 3 was shot almost entirely on Super 35. I have added the other two.

That would make no sense because the master was not 2.8K. It is indeed 4K.

But it's up converted crap. What's the point? Studios can take any garbage 2K DI from the past decade and up convert it to 4K. Will it actually be 4K? Absolutely not! The past decade will forever be the ugliest decade in the history of cinema. Unless some of the movies are completely reworked and have the special effects rendered at 4K, 35mm scanned at 4K, and new DIs made. No hope for anything shot on digital, like Avatar, etc.

I absolutely agree with you. However, I've never seen a 2.8 or 3K master so Sony just ran Skyfall through at 4K, which is fine with me.

Amour was shot with the Arri Alexa. That would make it shot in 2K. Correct? Not sure if we are still listing shot in 4K or just Mastered in 4K.

I wonder if perhaps movies like Skyfall aren't "upconverted", but they simply "save" it in 4K? So, essentially, we get a lot of "dead" bits (zeroes instead of ones).

Right. As I said, a 4K master would be better than a 2K one.

How sure are you that District 9 was mastered in 4K? Pretty sure the DI was 2K.

How sure? I put that in because a couple members 2 or so years ago claimed that it was a 4K master.
