Fumito Ueda Hints at Last Guardian TGS Showing

In a recent interview conducted at the CESA Developers Conference in Yokohama, Famitsu.com asked Ueda for a comment for players excited over The Last Guardian. Replied Ueda, "I believe we'll soon be able to make some announcements that will please everyone, so please look forward to it."

This certainly sounds like a hint at a Tokyo Game Show showing!

Ueda has been hinting at a TGS showing for the game for months now. In a February Famitsu interview, he said that he was hoping to share more info on the game this year but that Sony had yet to decide upon an E3 or TGS showing. The game missed E3.

More recently, Ueda got himself a Twitter account and wrote "We should be able to show something at Tokyo Game Show, so look forward to it." The only problem is, he didn't specifically mention The Last Guardian here.

The Last Guardian's TGS showing will likely be video-only. Sony announced its playable games lineup earlier this week, and, expectedly, The Last Guardian was not included.

Famitsu's interview was conducted following a CEDEC session where the Ueda and acclaimed animator Yasuo Ootsuka spoke about their respective fields. Visit the Famitsu.com story for images from the event.

I agree. Also, I love the art direction in this game. It pretty much comes to show that video games like Ico, SotC, and The Last Guardian can be considered "art".

It's been said by me and others countless times, but the model of that creature...the lighting off its feathers, the detail in its face and eyes....just unreal.

In a gaming world where most choose to just copycat the most popular look (unreal engine), it's great to see developers that choose to run with their own graphics engine and really set themselves apart from the field in doing so.

I don't get it, where is the hud showing your ammo. I hope it has a weapon wheel like Ratchet and Clank. Maybe a flamethrower and BFG. Would be sweet if he had a whip as well.
