Well, that's convenient. Since it's just after that point you replied to me three times about something you wrote yourself.

Definately be ready to see this on PS4 next week. Ex empolee of SCE at BigBig has confirmed this was moved to PS4 at least 2 years ago, as I thought. It's nice to have it confirmed.

Why does everyone keep saying PS4? You must be joking. There is no way in hell that they would scrap all these years of PS3 development and start over from scratch on an even more unfamiliar, demanding piece of hardware.

You're out of your mind if you honestly believe that is the case.

It's PS4. It's been PS4 for a long time now.

Is it planned for launch/window?

I don't know, but I know it's been in development on Orbis for a long time now. It's platform has been questionable for nearly two years, but the last time it was restarted (it's been restarted a number of times), it was moved to Orbis.

Wherever the game ended (ends?) up, I'd still be surprised if this game has actually existed for longer than it hasn't. Based on Santa Monica Studios being brought in and Ueda's departure. Whether voluntary or not. Plus, if the platform was switched two years ago, wouldn't that conflict with that last trailer? Unless it really was only released to the public because of the leak and not because it was intended to be seen.

It'd be kind of difficult for the game to have existed for longer than it hasn't.

I don't believe the whole 'other SCE studios/Santa Monica Studio devs physically brought in to help out' thing. They may have spoken to each other about best practises for PS3/next-gen development, stuff that already goes on between SCEA and SCEE devs, but maybe not so typically with Japan Studio.

The last proper trailer was at TGS in September 2010, well after the leak before E3 in 2009. I don't get what you're saying there.

This was already a nice evolution of the soft cape cloth in ICO/SotC, but imagine how perfectly flowy (with minimal clipping!) they could make it with PS4's rumoured physics processing might. And the smoke from those torches could be blown convincingly as characters run past.

It might be a bit wasteful but they could even have some nice fluid physics on stuff like this. The quicker you move, the more it sloshes out over the lip.

I'm actually happy to hear this would be getting delayed alongside stuff such as FFXIII-Versus, simply because such games rely on such beautiful elements that simply scream for as gorgeous as possible graphics to really bring the games to life.

I always felt 'WOW!' when i saw the FF movie cutscenes and then when we got back to gameplay, it was a bit 'meh' . So, i think having this on PS4 would definitely bridge the gap even more to the typical pre-rendered drop dead gorgeous cutscenes games like this can and do use when going from cutscenes to gameplay without the jarring elements.

I'm giddy mainly because i think it would be a great launch title for PS4 and there are a lot of quality games shaping up to release at launch

In other words, most of the development has not included what would be considered a playable game. I don't think either of those trailers had any AI. If they did, I would have expected a gameplay demo rather than largely similar trailers.

Sony already showed off one phantom game with Final Fantasy Versus. Last thing they need to do was show off a second one with Last Guardian.

I would prefer Sony doesn't even talk about either of those games anymore until they have a playable demo at a public event.

Sony should just cancel this game now, that ship has sailed.

Pre-orders for the Last Guardian in stores, that is hilarious. A person would be better off putting their pre-order down payment into a 5 year CD, it will mature before this game ever comes out.

Gavin Moore, Creative Director to Japan Studios told Polygon

Quote:
“Knack is being done in that studio, The Last Guardian is still being done in that studio, Toyama-san [Gravity Rush creator] is doing his next one.”
That's something I guess.

I think this part was more enlightening

Quote:
That's the key to how SCE Japan works, he said, multiple teams are always working on games with a core group, while a much larger group of developers move to which ever project is closest to completion. And right now the studio is busy.
Maybe this wasn't Japan Studio's method before Allan Becker took over? They seem a lot more productive despite making higher production value games now so something's working.

Now I'm all excited for Gravity Rush 2 again!

Could see this re-revealed tomorrow?

Sony Promising The News We've "Been Waiting For" Tomorrow

Watch live here http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sceja-...erence-english

Sony are set to reveal something big tomorrow morning at their pre-TGS conference, something that they’re describing as “the news you’ve been waiting for” along with the above image that they shared through their Chinese social media service.

They go on to say that this new information will be “beyond your expectation” and promise a good dose of “surprise”. More than just a Japanese PS4 release date, then. The full statement reads:

Quote:
“Finally, it’s coming to #TGS2013. Like before, SCEJA will have a press conference before the game show. I could only say: The news you’ve been waiting for, and the information beyond your expectation will both be revealed officially. So tomorrow, please do watch the live-stream and keep follow @PlayStation !Promise to bring surprise to you!”

Looks like TLG will finally get re-revealed for PS4
