You guys are pretty silly the way you think. What makes you think a game will flop because its been in development a long time? Ueda had the game design since day 1 and as long as its kept intact it should be unique and wonderful to play.

Its a unique game that nobody has ever copied to date. If we haven't played anything like it before how can you be sure it will flop?

Graphics? Its on PS4.. so it will look better than it did in 2009.

Plus, I've had a PS4 since launch and I don't like to race or shoot anymore.. This is the sort of thing that will keep me gaming into the night. I'm really tired of everything you guys consider a hit, a blast, a masterpiece.. Most of the time its the same game as last month with a new skin.

I watched Destiny for 10 mins and fell asleep.. Its those types of games I would like to see "start" flopping.

I completely agree. As annoyed as I've been with all the delays and it being put on hold I'm kind of glad now because it's going to be on the PS4.

For those who have played Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, both games are very unique and pretty much unlike most of the games out there. For that reason, I can imagine The Last Guardian (or whatever it will end up for a title) will continue the style of a classic open map adventure puzzle game.

Just played Colossus again last week and remembered shooting the fruit from the trees can really increase your player's heath. The lizard tails increase your stamina. Both essential to surviving and climbing the giant walking statues who were minding their own business till this kid and his horse started attacking them.

The PS3 collection is nice, as both games are on the same disc, higher resolution and a feature story on The Last Guardian (video included on disc).

Reasons why a project would go on for 6+ years might include if this was a side project they would add to in their spare time, due to little funding compared to a major release. Or if there are only a few team members working on it. Or if they didn't set a firm deadlline and kept delaying it. Or...

Last Guardian (Sony, PS4)
Yes, we know it has been in development hell since 2007, but we have it on very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Whether it’ll bear any relation to the game last shown at E3 in 2009 is anyone’s guess.
Their 15 most anticipated:

Fallout 4
Deus Ex Mankind Divided
Mass Effect 4
Xcom 2
Wattam
The Last Guardian
Zelda U
Firewatch
Persona 5
Lego Dimensions
Star Wars Battlefront
No Man's Sky
Metal Gear Solid V
Uncharted 4
Hololens

...

MS am cry (aside from Hololens, which isn't even an Xbox game really, just an AR system).

No, they updated the story and the guy said in a tweet that for Zelda it was clearly wishful thinking. They did not claim inside info for that one.

MS am cry? A lot of those games are coming out for X1 as well as Halo 5 and Forza 6. Just because some d-bag with a website doesn't anticipate them doesn't mean "MS am cry". Whatever the hell that even means.

Yeah, only 4 of those are Sony exclusives. I don't think MS has anything to worry about. They may be lacking in sales but they seem to be really making it up in games.

Lol calm down, your stripes are showing...

I was merely underlining that the list of 15 most anticipated games for the biggest game show of the year (in a very influencial UK newspaper, and it's not like it's a "contributor"" blog post either) did not containt a single Xbox exclusive, while featuring no less than 4 PS4 exclusives (and 2 games strongly tied to it, cf MGS V and Battlefront).
I mean, not even Halo 5 made the list.

The Tech guy for them might very well be a huge PS fanboy, or a Xbox hater, I have no idea. It's simply a missed PR oportunity for MS in that specific case (not that Halo needs PR really).

Don't take things so seriously, it's not good for your heart.

Halo isn't even relevant anymore especially after releasing that broken trash called MCC and tomb raider is rumored to be releasing in November and will proceed to get slaughtered by call of duty and Star Wars.

Forza will bomb and not even chart

One day, one day they'll give up the dream. One day.

Seriously, though, if this game (The Last Guardian, since the thread got a bit derailed) actually shows, I'll do a literal spit-take all over whatever screen is in front of me when I learn the news. I've given up on ever seeing it again.

My Last guardian moment came last year when they announced KH3. Will never forget that.

The large dog with feathers will be key to solving the puzzles, should be interesting. I wonder if it'll have a large open map like Colossus, or an explorable castle as in Ico?

I'm looking forward to how they may have improved the camera in Last Guardian. Ico's camera was cooperative most times. Colossus' camera had to be wrangled in and kept in check, but mostly during the boss battles.

"The team is still working on it very hard," he said. "There are certain technical issues they've been working on. That's the period of time when the game, looking from the outside, doesn't seem to be making much progress. But internally there is a lot of work going into creating the title."

"We had the game playable," Yoshida added. "At one point we felt that it would be produced for a certain time period. That was the time we prematurely talked about the launch window. But it turned out the technical issues are much harder to solve. So the engineering team had to go back and re-do some of the work they had done."

That was back in 2011, I'm positive they've passed those hurdles now,

It seems a lot of these rumors are all coming from within the UK gaming press, which seems odd since the game has no association with any of the UK studios. So I wonder where the leaks are coming from?

As well as the renewed talk of am E3 reveal according to eurogamer over the past 6 months they've heard numerous sources tell them that PS4 architect Mark Cerny joined the team to help push yew game out of the door.

Every day that passes without a denial from Shu Yoshida, it becomes more real for E3 2015.

And then you have stuff like this one that pops out, that even goes beyond that...

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/06/...s-oddworld-dev

Quote:
Mark Cerny, the architect behind the PlayStation 4, is reportedly heading up development on The Last Guardian.

According to Just Add Water Developments' boss Stewart Gilray, Cerny has been brought on board to see the long-delayed title through to completion.

"And that certain somebody is the guy who helped out with the architecture of Vita and PS4. I’m led to believe his team is now running Last Guardian to finish," he said in an interview on the latest episode of the PS Nation podcast.

Just yesterday, a report emerged claiming that Sony will re-reveal Team Ico's project at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. With E3 2015 right around the corner, we're sure to find out soon enough whether or not all of these rumblings are true.
Now maybe the guy they interviewed read that rumor on GAF to start with... lol

The IGN stuff (now reported by Polygon as well, but taken from IGN instead of their own source) is kinda lol worthy (they have no idea where the guy from JustAddWater got his own info), but now the Tech guy from The Guardian doubles down on it in the Tech Blog podcast of the News Paper:

http://www.theguardian.com/technolog...un/10/games-e3

@ 28:50 (I checked, he does say it)

In it, he says
Quote:
Keith Stuart, "I'll stake my reputation that is gonna be there this year."

I'll be the only one saying this but I'd rather Mark work on Knack 2 than TLG. I'm sure there are a lot of others would could help make TLG a great game.

Unless they got someone else for Knack 2 assuming we even get a Knack 2.

The way I see it is they've supposedly had tech problems all during 'production.' What better person than the architect of the system to help them and make sure it looks as good as it's going to need to? Sure there's ICE but I'm sure SONY wants this to look pretty special.

Plus he's fluent in Japanese. He's the perfect fit.
