4K and "restoration" don't go hand in hand. Just because a movie has a 4K transfer doesn't mean it needed to be restored. A lot of the movies listed are in good shape. Other than routine color correction and dirt/noise removal these were not "restored" in the traditional sense.

Meant as irony....a lot of people think if the studios puts a 4K release out it presents the best looking tranfer.
Purple Noon is a good example....Criterion is a 2K, the Studio Canal is 4K

I've always felt with everything being exactly equal, the difference between a 2K and 4K scan on Blu-ray is going to be minimal. After all, it's 1080p we are seeing at the end of the day.

What it mostly comes down to is the quality of the elements being used for the scan - and the overall competency of the mastering process involved.

You can 4K or 8K scan crappy elements and it will not look nearly as good as good elements at 2K especially on a newer scanning machine by people who know what they are doing.
