For some movies, 4K is great but for others it doesn't make much difference. For example, Dr. Strangelove is 4K, and while it looks decent, I don't think that it looks THAT good and there are certainly plenty of 2K transfers that look better.

there is improvement, color is much better, richer, grain is much finer, more film like, and the detail, as such, is up a couple notches, a nice improvement, if not mind-blowing,

I think you have it backwards. There is a different thread that is about native 4K, but this is the one about 4K downscaled to 1080p. As far as I can tell, anyway.

![]() Are you for real? Did you seriously type that? Not that I'm trying to start anything, but I'm seriously shocked to see this come from you considering how you always seemed to fiercely defend Lucas' decisions in regards to the original trilogy over in the Star Wars threads. |

Ivan Reitman didn't recut Stripes for Blu-ray or prevent it from being released because it was against his wishes or vision. This was SPHE dropping the ball. And I never said I didn't wish to see the original cuts of the Star Wars films on Blu-ray either. I have both Stripes and SW on BD, and would buy the originals if available. |
