I would also have to think that since Disney has been doing 4K scans of their classics this is a good sign for the Star Wars UOT.

So are all the movies listed here mastered from the 4K source when transferred to Bluray? Or is this thread about movies which are known to have a 4K scan but the Bluray version isn't necessarily using that scan...?

"Film elements that were scanned in 4K or higher.
Often these elements are then worked on in 2K."

So if they are finished in 2K, why would we care if they are scanned in 4K? What good is it to us?

You will never see the UOT on a higher quality. Lucas, even if he doesn't own the company anymore, has made it his mission to not let that happen. Get used to it. Just download the "Despecialized Editions".

I wouldn't say "never". They didn't listen to his ideas for The Force Awaken and I don't believe he has any say in what Disney does with the UOT.
