I wonder about what's the hook going to be?
How will the producers going to get a year 2020 mass audience into the theater seats, for a sequel to an 80s hit film?

The Mummy demonstrated how Tom Cruise starring in your big budget film, is not a guarantee that the audience shows up anymore.

The difference is The Mummy wasn't suited for Cruise, it had working against it being a reboot of an already beloved franchise (that nobody wanted) and looking like a horror film that a studio had mistakenly dropped an action star in.

Top Gun: Maverick is neither a reboot nor Cruise in a movie he doesn't belong. If this was a case of a Top Gun sequel without Cruise I'd see your point, but he was the star of that film so I can't imagine it ending up the catastrophe that The Mummy was.

And even the trailers for it were horrible lol. Like you knew watching those mummy trailers it was a miss.

Yeah, that's true.

I reckon that early previews and the RT score will really influence whether the general audience shows up for this film or not.

A non-story. That behaviour doesn't even sound like Tom Cruise. This is a man who spends 90 minutes at premieres chatting with fans and taking selfies. 'Don't look at me?' I smell bullshit.

I think there's plenty of paper thin stories made "more" by the talent of the cast and having a solid script despite a paper thin plot

True, plus, previously documented positive interaction with the enlisted at Lemoore earlier in the production - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post16095439

and although I don’t personally know the bidder, I would doubt this winning charity bidder is suffering from any buyer’s remorse, last sentence of this past post - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post16091837

and the previous page, without spoiling the plot (I tend to use a lot of red circles, arrows, etc.)

not nearly as sophisticated as that ^ camera system, but nevertheless, I think this selfie is quite cool –

To share an exclusive (not seen in the photo service pics nor on social media) revelation, this is an expanded view of the vicinity weeks before the talent and crew for Top Gun: Maverick arrived and set up as looking up the street from the camera placement near the sidewalk on the left in front of the house with the backyard ocean view -
