Ah, so they've got less skin in the game. Pity.

^ Shot on the Alexa 65, along with 30 other feature films [Mary Magdalene (2017), Breathe (2017), etc.] and TV dramas by various production companies/studios of which, unfortunately, only a fraction which will receive a 4K finish.

These days, the big S (as are others, e.g. http://aimsalliance.org/) is placing a lot of effort into the move to IP-production workflows in the live production industry….

Note: The last two motion pictures which Pieter V referenced having had their DI services provided by Light Iron (Michael's outfit), ergo a pertinent Thursday Throwback reference…. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post11573762

James Wan got to watch the new HDR version of Furious 7 and was gloating about it on Twitter last week. Expect it to be released with Fast 8.

It won't able to rescue the frankensteined film itself, mind you. Wake me up when Fast 6 gets a UHD release.

Is it unrealistic to hope, or perhaps even expect, that it'll be UHD versions of all preceding Fast and Furious films being released at the same time?

So if a film is shot in 4K but then finished at 2K is there still a possibility of them going back and finishing it in 4K for the Ultra HD format as I'm really disappointed in so many films being finished at 2K now we have the means to view 4K at home.

Depends what was finished at 2k. If the CGI were done at 2k, then it's just upscaling.
