Unfortunately he doesn’t know or realize the issue.

It’s not a brightness “fluctuation” problem.
It’s a rendering problem caused by checkerboarding.

Also there isn’t anything wrong with the HDR values at Default.

He mentions the issue with the upscaling in the video.

The exact same issue was experienced in Horizon Zero Dawn on console, too, so this isn't a surprise.

Looks like we'll have to wait for the PC version to get a truly pristine version of the game, as always.

Played the first game at launch on PS4 Pro. Was the first game that really took advantage of that hardware. No issues for me however my 4K Sony didn’t support HDR.

As per the sequel, the developers are investigating for a solution to the Performance Mode artifacting.. My bet is, they’ll have to lower the resolution below 1800p target in order to resolve this.

I'll just wait to play it on my 3080 Ti, regardless of how long it takes. Well worth it.
