I just can’t see going smaller than a 70” TV for home entertainment with others. If one can not afford this year’s 83” A90J, I think the sweet spot for fulfilling the immersive viewing angle of the HVS and price point for those who live and watch TV with a family, or even just with one partner remains the 77” Sony A80J.
Because like seeing what’s in front of you while driving in the EU - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_field

it is best to have what you are seeing occupy a tad more than 100 degrees visual field, horizontally, so, for you folks not getting that fulfillment either due to your smallish displays (even if you own/or have access to the gold standard - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...0#post16518224) , or being seated so far back from the screen with your kids or partner, then might I recommend at least an immersive viewing here - https://www.amctheatres.com/movies/t...50-years-68695

as a precursor to adding this 4K UHD to your collection - https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-G...lu-ray/307780/

The speculation about QD-OLED is because its first gen is only why the price is so high (due to yields being poor).

If that's true? I can see my next set being a 2025 QD OLED from Sony that peaks at 1000+ (hopefully 1200) nits calibrated white point with a heatsink. If its sale figure is at a pricepoint of, say, 3000AUD for a 55".

Right now the WRGB lineups of Sony stick to around 3000-3500 sale prices for the step down A80J in my market. But, again, if it was such a huge increase of BT2020 coverage (even above the 90% the 2022 flagship model is), and totally matured technology overall by then?

I would probably bite.

But I'm preparing myself to be in camp MiniLED for a 65" of one of the chinese brands hitting 2500+ nits and least blooming possible, if the prices stay too premium for QD-OLED

No doubt there will be QD growing pains. LG didn’t start with WRGB. They switched over to it to counteract IR.

must be permabanned. I never understand what constitutes banning around here. There should be a message from moderators in bold when they happen.

I'm not sure even the mods know. I agree. They need to be more transparent and not hide why a member was banned. For example, Waboman banned - Reason; being a scruffy nerfherder. Of course I'm joking. I'm not a scruffy.

Same here except I’ve had my C6 since 2016. No burn in, no “babying” my sets.

Bet OLED still wins the shootout since they will be more accurate, OLED haters will once again cry.

A cast-iron sure thing is a not a bet, it's a certainty. OLED will always win the shootout (any time, anywhere) because people don't want to upset that applecart.
