Lol maybe. I’m glad he shares his findings but a lot of people treat him like he’s the pope of TVs if TVs were a religion. It’s almost weird.

It's human nature. TVs, lawnmowers, people will flock to any person they consider an authority. Heck you can see the adoration on these boards for a certain forum kitty in the cat and dog home right now.

Part of their disagreement was DV HDR. Vincent said there was a clear difference between player led and tv led dolby vision profiles. He made a video on it, and called out D-Nice on that video and claimed that D-Nice said there was no visual difference. Whether D-Nice said that or not, I do not know. That's one of their disagreements, and calling him out in a video, probably brought it to a head.

Regardless, with a threat like that, D-Nice shouldn’t expect any favors/perks/consultant creds from a smart AV company. Especially, if in his anger during said “DEEP conversation”, he coldcocks Vincent at a show being there also as a representative of some company and causes Teoh to suffer a retinal detachment, as Vincent would likely sue him, as well as the ‘deep pockets’ entity and do quite well in settlement.

Anyway, since I doubt either of these individuals are trained in whichever type of physicality - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...o#post18634864 , if this situation were to escalate and both are motivated to not turn the other cheek, it would be interesting to see who is/or can hire a better hacker, as just about anyone or any business entity can be hacked if one throws enough resources into the project and I suppose both have their share of internet enemies so deniability on the part of the culprit could work.

It’s not really funny that this is how this tech stuff has gotten. During the hd dvd blu ray war days I got my life threatened a couple of times not on this forum a different one. It’s why I hardly post anymore it had taken the fun out of tech it’s just a piece of electronics it’s should not be life or death. Do I get annoyed at some people yes of course we all do but I would never want to fight some one over it It’s sad that it has come to this.

I don't think he means to physically fight him. Oh the HD-DvD days. I think there were some releases in African countries, and even then the HD-DvD fanatics were still buying them over Blu-ray. Like HD-DvD was obviously a closed platform out the gate. Blu-ray media could and, has continued to evolve.

I tend to pay more attention to people in real life multi-talented personal situations. I really appreciate Vincent's testing, especially in regards to gaming.

I also like that D-Nice is willing to answer questions and provide his recommended settings.

The whole feud thing (and ensuing fanboyism) is ridiculous. I'll take good info where I can find it.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong because I’m not an avid follower of either of these two individuals, but Vincent seems to offer much more in terms of a range of topics , rather than solely the nuanced calibration of consumer televisions.

Of which, for that matter, consumer television calibrators, with few exceptions over the years seem to avoid the issue of drift, which is something of import in the professional realm if you’re really serious about persistent image quality; otherwise, why are we paying these guys every several months to check and recalibrate monitors in color and editing bays. I think you’ve also got to hand it to Vincent in that despite obstacles , he evolved his AV career building by becoming quite popular and thriving on YouTube.
