My only issue with it is the motion handling. It's not as good as my plasma was in that regard. Fine for the most part, but a little judder is detectable in some panning shots. I think this is to some extent a limitation of OLED though (at least that's my understanding - someone might be along with better information).

You could look at the HZ980 if that's still knocking around, which is very similar - it was released as the 2020 'budget' OLED, using the 2019 panel used in the GZ950, but with a couple of extra bells and whistles from the HZ line (Filmmaker Mode, mostly, I think).
100% correct on all levels. As a GZ1000 owner (same model as GZ950 just a different stand) I can vouch for the motion handling; from what I've read (just as you have), it's an inherent limitation of OLED technology due to its instant pixel response time, a frame is simply delivered so quickly that the inherent drawbacks of 24fps content is amplified. I've found setting motion interpolation to the 'Min' setting results in clearing up the larger part of judder without creating perceptible artifacts like ghosting.

Oh, next year becomes more interesting with OLED Samsung TVs.
That is excellent as Samsung use so many OLED screens on their smartphones.

Anyway, it's more competition (vary good) in the "almost perfect" world of OLED ... before the next pandemic; Micro-LED.

Hmm....

In my opinion if Samsung release an OLED TV without support for Dolby Vision, it would be a waste of money!

Samsung cannot afford to pay extra manufacturing costs and added licensing fee ...
https://www.techradar.com/news/dolby...t-it-supported

Quote:
"Samsung has stated that it wouldn’t support Dolby Vision due to added manufacturing costs and an additional license fee – though also because it trusts its own TV processing system and hardware, which it says can optimise HDR10 images without the need for Dolby Vision. Samsung, therefore, decided to support the royalty-free dynamic metadata HDR system HDR10+ exclusively."

The QD-OLED panels will be supplied by Samsung Display, nothing prevents other manufacturers such as Sony or Panasonic to benefit from them in the same way as Samsung Electronic.

Yes, that's a hilarious article which is very long and contains zero investigation of the headline. The speculative sentence which you quoted is pretty much it! The rest is just padding with things we already knew.

Samsung are definitely lying when they say they "can't afford it".

Imagine the future when they are selling 12-bit OLEDs with perfect uniformity, perfect near-black handling - and still no Dolby Vision? They'd be a laughing stock.

More Dolby Vision is the greatest thing evangelicals. All it is is a slight difference it does not make a tv worth more then others. Even Vincent says it’s slight difference. So why should Samsung pay more for something that’s not that much better?

You would make the perfect negotiator; talk to Vincent if he can convince Samsung.
If not, people buy the TV they want to buy. Vincent is still a very good guide to us.

Oh yeah I blocked that channel years ago because I didn't like that kind of energy. He just lets his biases run wild and will not hesitate to shit on anything that runs contradictory.
