Just an idea...

As somebody who uses the televisions in-built media streaming service apps and media player, I do wish Vincent would spend some time to checking to see if these apps display content at the correct refresh rates.

There's nothing worse seeing natively encoded 23.976 or 24.000 content displayed at 60Hz. Not to mention 25.000fps encoded content from say, BBC iPlayer or NOW displayed at 60Hz

Panasonic TVs have some weird motion processing (I call it head turn stutter). Not sure if they fixed this.

The silliness of 23.98 playing as 24 or vice versa is my #1 peeve. It results in a tiny but regular glitch and by fook it’s annoying. Any decent TV should have a 3:2 pulldown remover so the 60Hz thing doesn’t bother me re: 23.98/24fps content, but there’s literally nothing can be done about 23.98 into 24.

Agreed... Years ago (when I used to test media playback and display devices) I created some test samples to demonstrate this very issue. I was surprised at how many manufacturers would email me saying "we can't see the problem"

Vincent said the 2023 models pass DTS through e/arc. If I didn't understand or someone can clarify please post. That is partly the reason why I did not purchase the C2. Thanks, John..

Actually it seems like a very specific use case

"DTS audio formats are still not supported in LG's 2023 TVs but the company said that the 2023 models now have the capability to pass through the DTS bitstream of a IMAX Enhanced stream to an IMAX Enhanced compatible soundbar. It should also work with IMAX Enhanced soundbars from other brands"

They could just make it work you know. This is why LG has and always will be garbage.

Is there a difference in IMAX Enhanced DTS compared to standard DTS?

I have no idea. Technically it should be a DTS:X container anyway

This might eventually be good news for 2020, 2021 and 2022 LG television owners. As it might encourage LG to unlock all flavours of DTS decoding, which is already incorporated within the Mediatek AV decoding chip-sets...

LG TVs don't use Mediatek SoCs, they use proprietary hardware: that's why they have 4 HDMI 2.1 ports since 2019
