I've been wrong about your personal motivations before but it's not your motivations I'm questioning here, it's the supposed facts to go with them. About which I'm quite sure you'll recall me correcting you over and over and over and over again on a variety of technical subjects. It's one thing to get as overzealous as you (or anyone) do when in full possession of said facts, it's another to get as worked up as you do when pulling a whole bunch of ideas outta your ass.

What's worse, my supposed stupid bunch of ideas (whatever they are)? Or the fact a few people have turned that thread into a dumpster fire by fanatically trying to force their opinion as the overriding consensus?

As opposed to you fanatically trying to force your opinion as the overriding consensus, to the point of championing the views of someone who hadn't even watched them fully before giving them perfick marks! And where you created a separate 'LOTR viewers only' thread as a safe space where you wouldn't have to be assailed by those nasty opinionses of other people.

What turned that thread into a raging pile of burning garbage wasn't just the screenshot scientists but the utterly dismissive attitude that they were met with by the IJWTM brigade, which in turn made the scientists even more outraged and so on. If both sides gave some ground and actually listened to each rather than just sticking their fingers in their ears and going "la la laaaaa I can't hear you" then we might've got somewhere, but nope. Dumpster fire it was.

Depends on what hive you're from I guess

How many people watch their movies one screencap at a time? If I recall correctly, you said that while they had issues, they were also the better looking set to date.

It was not so much they were dismissed, but they based everything on screencaps and the half dozen were very obnoxious about it. Did not see the movies, but a few choice screencaps were all they needed to decide they were worse than any other release. Then to constantly go on about it. Even one alluding to if you did not see it, then you were not watching the movie with the right settings.

Reminds me of the gamers who would nitpick screenshots of things in games they would not see when playing.

I've told you multiple times I wasn't, I've told you multiple times why that thread was created. And others also created threads because of those people. How many more times are you going to misrepresent my position?

And I don't care about Ralph Potts per say, or his opinion on TLOTR. It was just the FACT Mr Freeman kept on using the TLOTR as a platform to keep on throwing around certain accusations.

It's not my problem with giving ground! It's the FACT certain people just want to take the ground for themselves, and push anyone who disagrees off a cliff.

We aren't dealing with a film trilogy that's tecnically straightforward. Things need to be put into and discussed in a proper context.

I'm really starting to think this has more to do with your own paranoia about people not liking in depth technical analysis. Which I have stated multiple times has nothing to do with it.

And the people replying to them were just as obnoxious if not more so, and around and around it went. They didn't want to acknowledge anything that the 'scientists' were saying, just as the scientists didn't want to hear it that there are appreciable benefits as well. To some it was the worst thing ever, to some it was the best thing ever, there was no middle ground whatsoever.

Yes, you were so accommodating with your "proper context" that you created a whole other thread for it.

What does my supposed 'paranoia' (now who's making assumptions?) have to do with it? If people don't want to listen to techy stuff then that's fine, most people don't, but it's when techy stuff gets dismissed as some sort of mass delusion that I start getting arsey, for a while there it was like we were back in the Middle Ages or something. As it turns out the 'scientists' weren't actually wrong, nor were their screencaps, but they are as incapable of recognising the merits of the LOTR UHDs outside of a few cherry picked caps as people like you were/are incapable of recognising that there is actually some merit to the science as well. I'm assuming that you'll continue the anti-screenshot thing in every thread seeing as it's so utterly and completely invalid, or will it only be the ones you disagree with where you'll keep denouncing caps as heresy? Might wanna remove your own examples of what Total Recall looks like if so.

Vincent is right on most of the time. LG makes one of the best TVs in the world. The other being Panasonic.
