Meantime, I'm thoroughly enjoying my 65" OLED. I'll be happy with it for as long as it lasts. |

Actually they do go together. Anxiously awaiting and "Mainstream MicroLED" will be going together for quite some time. Longer than any reasonable expectation would be to hold off for viable product.
You watch, I bet even the specs will be below what we were promised if that day ever comes. And it will still be ultra high premium $$$ end of mainstream. |

I truly believe MicroLED won’t take as long as people think.
The price however I do agree the first few years will be rough. However once more production lines are made for mass production, costs will obviously decrease from the Company’s end. So average consumer will ultimately have to wait a few years to get one at current OLED pricing. IMO is a good thing because major issues will have likely been ironed out by then. |

It musta been a slow pay day for him when he decided to make a Cons video about OLEDs in general such as ASBL (GSR), TPC, ABL along with Screen Uniformity & Near Black Chrominance Overshoot. Musta got a lot of OLED hate from people for making these videos. Truth is, OLEDs have all these issues I mentioned. So am glad he at least made a negative video about OLED tech. However most of his videos are OLED positive. At the end of the day, he at least shares his findings wether it be positive or negative. As per the tech itself. There is still time for OLEDs to improve feature wise etc. I personally do not care if they do. I’m at 5300+ hours on my LG C1. 1 thing is very clear to me. The tv image quality doesn’t look as good as it did brand new. Contrast & Sharpness degrade on OLEDs. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t own one. |

![]() Speaking of... I saw that character finally unmasked on YT in recent years and is still pretty cringe in terms of "truth" he spits. But at least he's not just a weird Samsung fanboy culty voice from the ether any longer. |

He and others speculate that the monitor doesn't do higher than 600~ nits because of technical limitation in power to go higher, and because of pixel pitch and a choice from manufacturer to be conservative... thing is I would wanna use a monitor with MLA tech for grading and so 1000 nits would be what i expect to spend the money this will fetch.
The strongest thing that display has going for it is 240hz refresh and I'm not a gamer. Hopefully the QD-OLED PC monitor displays this year are improved over last. Watching this space, as they say. |

My 2018 65 b8 has almost 24,000 hours on it.
It still works beautifully. Yes I compared it to other TVs in the home and elsewhere. Am I lucky or is it that I mix and match video content. I have some technical knowledge and this oled , "knock on wood", is special. Take care John M. |

I figure since practically most of all those hours spent is gaming + mostly HDR with no slowing down there I should cook my OLED. Maybe I got a good Panel. Dunno. I still turn off the TV after 4-6 hours, let it do it’s Mini Pixel Refresher, than wait 10 minutes & turn on & use it for another 4-6 hours. Rarely have I ever left the TV on in 1-go longer than 8 hours. That aside from cleaning the dust off the TV is the only babysitting I’ve done. |

IMO OLED is in its twilight years for TVs. MicroLED has it beat everywhere except price, and that will change in time. Once OLED is no longer perceived as top tier quality and becomes at best a mid-range offering, that segment will go for Mini LED because of it's better brightness+ it doesn't have the burn in concern. At the entry level, edge lit LED will have it beat in price. MicroLED will be to OLED , what OLED was to Plasma. In the meantime until MicroLED is affordable, I will enjoy Mini LED! |
