We could be on the cusp of variable aspect ratio displays, but I think the ship has sailed for physical media.

Would be neat to see IMAX 1:43 content or widescreen features getting the most screen real estate.

Am just messin..

Though I did look at the X93L which is $3K & do wonder if it at all it outperforms the FALD.

X93L is basically a rebranded X95K for the North American market

But why would you like to go back from an OLED to a LCD, if I may ask?

Sony's ability with local dimming is still amazing but for the price they charge there's very little reason to choose this over a good OLED....

Unless we are talking 85", at 75" is already a tough sell

For those of us who are not interested in gaming... I do wish Vincent would include information about how well the media streaming apps work

EDIT: I forget to mention, I'd also wish Vincent would include information about how well the 'media player' app work together with their feature-sets.

Agree. I am just waiting for the 85X95L to go under £3500. When that happens it is time to say goodbye to the ZD9 and demote the 77A80J to the bedroom.

For some reason, Sony continues to use a superior panel on the 85.

With the 85X95L price dropping another $500 for the 2nd time the retail is now $4,799. and with generous store credits for purchasing the TV and delivered Nationwide from 6 warehouses across America, the X95L fits perfectly in the premium enthusiasts TV top choices for the 2023 model year. This TV is that good!

Sony's X95L is an excellent high performance QD MiniLED 4K HDR TV. Deep rich blacks with very nice peak luminance and the new 2023 XR Processor is top in class with all elements of video processing thanks to Sony's new XR Cognitive processor, with the new "XR Clear" and "Contrast Enhancer" upgrades.

With that said some of the new OLED TV TVs still deliver a moderately better image when viewed in moderate to especially low ambient light. But even in low ambient light OLED's advantage is minimized with the new X95L.

This is a very enjoyable time in the luxury TV market with a lot of successful and very worthy technology advancements and new features and benefits of pairing the TV with any of Sony's new 5 A/V Receivers or any of Sony's 5 Sound Bar Audio Systems including my personal favorite, the HT-A9 that emulates 22 channel of high quality Dolby Atmos/DTS:X as well as all 2-channel stereo content from any source.

The Google Streaming user interface is easy and intuitive and responds quickly. Has most of the Smart Apps and an App Store for new releases and other speciality apps.
