Shenzhen GEIC Electronics Co Ltd is the manufacturer. Reavon is not the manufacturer, just a brand name. It’s owned by Parisian consumer electronics company Groupe Archisoft who has these made.

Now Pioneer players are dead, no one will license anything from them. As the French say C'EST LA VIE.

I just hope Pioneer continue to support the player with updates. I love my LX 500

I sent Pioneer an email regarding availability of the LX500 and I never got the response it was discontinued forever.

This is the email.

thanks for your message.

Unfortunately we cannot estimate when it is availible again because of the manufactoring lack due to the covid pandemic.
The board of management is searching for a new solution.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

I was on pioneer.co.uk, the contact page obviously goes to someone in Germany.

Someone on here told me it was discontinued and for some reason I cannot find that thread anymore, like its been deleted.

I am waiting on funds to arrive and will promptly buy a 4k player. I hate not getting the player I want and doing with 2nd best. I'll probably get the UB9000 and somehow do without SACD/DVD-A. Or maybe wait for Sony to bring out a SACD/DVD-A hybrid with auto DV switch.

The reason for asking which Pioneer location you were contacting and your location is it seems Pioneer will have stock outside the US. We've been told through retailer sources it will not be marketed in the US.

That's very interesting...we'll have to keep an eye out for it. I still would love to get my hands on one. It just slowly started to disappear before the pandemic and then we never saw it come back. When I contacted Pioneer some time ago they told me it was discontinued.

This information about other regions (might) receive stock is based on second hand information posted by other members. I have not seen anything formally posted by Pioneer.

The exception is Robert Zohn from Value Electronics contacted Pioneer directly about the US market.

If you have enough room in your setup (which I unfortunately don't), you can probably find a used late 2000's Pioneer Super Audio CD/DVD-Audio player with HDMI for cheap on eBay or maybe even a thrift or pawn shop.

SA-CD is dead and rightfully so. I have my LX-500, love it, but I hardly play any DVD-A or SA-CD's. The industry fleeced us with SA-CD/DVD-A thing. Go ahead and get that Panny. Don't wait for the funds, put it on that credit card and pay it off when the funds come in.

Neither Super Audio CD nor DVD-Audio are technically dead, especially Super Audio CD. Many audiophiles still use these even today, and these formats still have occasional releases.

I think they'll be back in a limited fashion. I wouldn't count on a new 4k player just yet (if at all). But you never know. They may have discontinued the LX500 and LX800 but they were dang good players.

I hope they make a comeback with 4K players but I wouldn't count on it. Sony, Panasonic just dominating the disc player market right now.
