Most on this forum owns Z9D. IMO withOUT much doubt from what I see.
So MuteLight. You saying to buy Sony OLEDs to replace our Z9D's???
Not exactly surprising that most people in the Z9D thread own one...

Nope, never once said to buy a Sony OLED, let alone to replace the Z9D.

I am very happy with both and they both have their advantages but never made the recommendation you are stating.

The final closeout sale starts today on Sony's last production of the 65" and 75" Z9D series.

- XBR-65Z9D $1,999, delivered

- XBR-75Z9D $3,999, delivered

Sale prices end when the limited supply sells out as do all future availability of the beautiful Sony Z9D 3D capable UHD/HDR TVs.

I saw the price drop on the 75" earlier this morning. If only I had room for a second one!

Hi Robert, I placed an order through your website for a XBR-65Z9D yesterday through PayPal, "Buy It Now" shortly after you posted this. How long will it take for delivery to Virginia?

Thanks. Scott

It's almost a crime to pass on these.

For those still on the fence, go get one (or two)!

Has anyone updated the Android OS manually on their Z yet? Has it been a nice improvement? I haven't received the software update notification yet and haven't done it manually either.

I ran it manually via USB and it is an excellent boost in responsiveness.

I just updated the firmware using the USB method. I only became inpatient waiting for the auto update because I wanted to check out YouTube HDR content. Hopefully they'll fix the YouTube HDR bug. Brightness slider doesn't automatically adjust to max, and you have to manually change the colorspace to BT2020 otherwise the picture is very dull looking.

Ah, I always wondered why I had to manually set the correct colorspace when I tried a couple of HDR clips with the YT app on the X800 player. Brightness slider was automatically set to max though.

Your talking YouTube through your X800. I mean the internal YouTube app on the Z9D, the brightness slider does not go to max when watching HDR content. I have to manually do it.

Yeah, me too. Android 8 is much faster than 7 and I like it better. I updated via USB and then did a factory reset.

Or is this clearing out existing inventory?
I just received my set from Robert and it has a November 2018 build date.

I use my Roku Ultra to watch YouTube HDR and it seems to set everything correctly. We'll, at least I think it does because HDR looks Incredible on my 65" Z9D.

Yeah, other sources of Youtube HDR are fine. I'm sure Sony will fix these issues as this update rolls out. I use Apple TV 4K for all else.

Saving an extra $500 is a great thing but stock of the Z9D is so low it might not be worth the risk. This was a $9k TV at release so the savings are already at a premium.

If you buy it through Best Buy and aren't already, it will move you to Elite Plus status which means if the price drops within 45 days you can call for a price match.

Great price for the 75", I would love to get it and it's the last 3D TV out there. I actually went through the Best Buy checkout process before I came to my senses (that it's still too soon to upgrade), I could have got it 24 months no interest. I just hope a deal like that comes along when I am scheduled to upgrade. But I envy those who take advantage of this great deal.
