How did they figure that Jorrel took his powers again if he sank with lex?
I can't find anything on how he'll get his powers, so we're gonna have to see. I don't think Jor-El took his powers away, it just said he's powerless. I remember 2 (different versions?) sources of his powers. I know that the yellow Sun is his main source, but i also remember the Fortress being a power source for him as well... and now that started to crumble down.

Used to watch episodes some time ago when randomly bumping on it on TV.
Can't say I hate the show.

I still watch the show but more out of a sense of obligation than anything else. I've not been happy with some of the choices the writers have made over the years. I do love the characters though, particularly Chloe and Lex.

I never saw that about the fortress in any animation, cartoon or movie? Must be in the comics. Even if that were the case, the SUN by FAR is all over the place thereby out weighing the Fortress affect. Even if the fortress goes down, the sun is covering the EARTH itself. They can't find any better stories so they have to keep getting cornier like that? Sounds like he isn't going to fly til maybe the END of season eight or til they finally cancel the show. Dumb stuff.

It is a definite joke that he can't fly yet. At this point it has to be a budgetary issue because it has held back the development of the storyline.

I don't see how it could be any more of a budgetary issue than all the slo-mo super-speed running scenes they do.

A joke? I thought that they had stated, when the series began, that he would not fly and would not be in costume.

Costume I can believe more, but really, no flying? I think they had him fly before under the influence of some red kryptonite and they also had Bizarro flying as well (which is essentially the same guy). I was also hoping that towards the end of the series (this is probably the last season or they'll have one more) he'll put his costume together because he already has his "cape" (actress gave it to him in season 7).

When the producers stated that before the series even began, I'm 100% sure they did not anticipate the show going eight full seasons. It made a little sense at first and I tolerated it for the first few seasons. But then they introduced all sorts of characters who can fly like Kara and the Martian Manhunter and Bizarro.

Well i'm going to ASSUME that since this is the final season that it would end with him finally flying to make it the ultimate smallville finally. Introducing Doomsday and Maxima and the Legend of Doom is cool and all but it's him finally being able to fly and knowing that he can do it willingly that is going to put that show over the top cause from there, it's a WRAP!!

Did anybody else know that the guy who plays Starkiller in The Force Unleashed is the same guy who's going to play Doomsday in Smallville?

You are correct. Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, creators of the series, stated those were their two basic rules when creating Smallville. I think they did a good job reimagining the Smallville story for the small screen. I did enjoy year 7's turn toward the dark side, witnessing Lex's fast descent toward his sinister fate. Unfortunately, Michael Rosenbaum, Millar, and Gough, all left the show at the end of year 7. I'm really hesitant to see how the show fares in year 8. Hopefully, they'll have a fresh take on the year that feeds off the Superman mythology. I really hate seeing trudge on too long without anything of substance to offer.

if they stick to the comic book he uses the blackets he was wrapped up in the spaceship as a baby to make his cape and costume

I run hot and cold with smallville. When it gets it right, it really gets it right. But when it gets it wrong.... *shudders* Big example: In the episode where Dean Cain guessed stared as the immortal.

Clark: (Speaking to luther) "I can't believe I had to kill a man for you!"

Wtf? Superman does not kill idiots!

Start of Season 8 is today! yay! I just recently finished watching the previous 7 seasons on DVD and the only episodes I didn't care for were Lana being a witch from the past... that was just dumb. That and I never cared for Lana anyway. Chloe is where it's happening. As long as Allison Mack has anything to do with the show then I'll continue watching.

I'm a fan.....was......kind of still am because the producers have been replaced for season 8 so there will something new and interesting to look forward to. Anyway, one BIG thing that ruined season 7 for me was the ending. Lex never finds out about Clark's secret.....EVER. Not even in the comic books. WHY did they do that? If Clark was going to lose to Lex then why didn't they just let him lose while he was at the farm thinking about Lana. It would have been a perfect ending...at least better than the way it did.

Can anyone tell me if Lex find out about Clark's secret in the comic books? I'm talking about Clark here.....not Superman.

I was a total Smallville freak until episode 100 : at last Clark and Lana get into a nice relationship, and then they do a stupid time travel thing to change things and they're both sad, then Clark discovers his body stops electricity when it wasn't before and saves Lois (???), then Mr Kent dies because Jor El is the equilibrium in person ...
Never seen so much crap in one episode. And I'm happy I stopped, as the characters become less and less credible, not reacting a bit to what happens around them, not having their feelings evolve normally, having James Marsters come and go for no reason, having Chloe (which I never liked) solve all episodes, making Clark a brainless muscle ... WOW and introducing the JLA ... WITHOUT BATMAN!!!!
So I'll keep loving the first 4 seasons. And of course Kristin Kreuk acting the best she can with the less and less the producers gave her.
