Well, from the last we've seen of Doomsday to the last episode which aired, i think the show has gone (once again) DOWN hill. Lana and super powers?!?! Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't it true that she NEVER had super powers (or at least for this length and reasoning)? And this "tough girl" attitude doesn't suit her character, who i believe never became the ninja type either.
Yes, you are correct...but it was not the symbol that we all know, the "S".

Basically, here is some of the things Warner Bros and/or DC Comics has insisted Smallville is NEVER allowed to do:

1. can't call Bart 'The Flash' (they had to use Impulse instead)
2. can't show us the Superman shield on Clark's chest
3. can't have Lois on full time
4. can't have her and Clark in a relationship or even kiss as themselves (i.e. they can be in "altered states and kiss, but not normal)

Keep in mind these are different from "no flights, no tights" etc clauses in Tom Welling's contract (stuff that could be changed, but unlikely). The above provisions are part of Smallville's contract as an existing show, and rules that the producers and writers have pledged to follow to keep the show on air. Anyways just thought I'd pass that along if anyone was interested.
So this goes back to my statement that the clip of an upcoming show could be a dream sequence or something along that line.

The "shield" was actually more like the family crest, looks more like the number 8 inside of the diamond shape of the Superman "S". As far as the super powered Lana, I think it's more like Kristin Kreuk's rehearsal for Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li.

I thought her being off the show and not really finding any other work was the rehearsal for that.

Everything about this season has been completley awesome including Lana getting powers. I'm tired of people complaining about everything.

Due to licensing issues, no it wasn't.

And you don't mean the "S". You mean it wasn't the symbol for the House of El that we have seen in the comics and other adaptations. It was specifically designed for Smallville.

Smallville created their own brand of Kryptonian lettering. The S shield did appear later on though.

Which is what I just said. Yes, you are right, and I think the reason why they were able to get away with having the real symbol of the House of El on the keys was due to the fact that they just can't get licensing for Clark to wear the symbol, but they can get licensing to have the symbol.

i wouldn't call it complaining (at least, not everyone). people are just voicing their opinion about certain things that they disagree with on the show. not everyone is going to love it or think everything about it is awesome. if you've liked everything about this season that's great but not everyone is going to agree with you

i wasn't a huge fan of the lana episodes, but i still think overall this entire season has been phenomenal

I agree there, this season rocked up until the Lana episodes. And then it took a sharp turn downhill. With the preview of the upcoming episode it doesn't seem to be fixing the writing.

Default Some Updates

SPOILERS MAY FOLLOW

Here are some updates for future episodes/seasons provided by Kryptonsite. The rest of this season is shaping up to be really awesome!

Episode: INFAMOUS
Official CW Description: TORI SPELLING RETURNS AS LINDA LAKE — Linda Lake (guest star Spelling) returns to Metropolis and threatens to expose Clark's (Tom Welling) secret unless he promises to give her exclusive information on the red-blue blur so she can become a star reporter again. Refusing to be blackmailed, Clark tells Lois (Erica Durance) his secret and asks her to write his story for The Daily Planet.

Episode: TURBULENCE
Official CW Description: TESS SETS A TRAP FOR CLARK — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) invites Clark (Tom Welling) to a press conference in New York but when an explosion rocks the private jet they are on, Clark must figure out how to save them without Tess learning his secret. Unbeknownst to Clark, Tess orchestrated the explosion to get Clark to reveal his powers. Meanwhile, Davis (Sam Witwer) discovers a surprising way to control the monster within.

Regarding SEASON 9:
The show has been renewed for a ninth season, and Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has implied that all cast members from Season 8 will be returning for another year except possibly for one: Sam Witwer (Davis/Doomsday). Hopefully this means only that his role as Doomsday is up, and he'll be back as Zod... right?

I'm very intrigued by that last statement....what does THAT mean?

YAY!!!

There was a chance S8 would be the last. S8 is my favorite season so far. I like all the seasons except for S1.

Season Finale SPOILERS!

Quote:
EW's "Ask Ausiello" this week reveals that the Legion of Super Heroes will be returning for the final episode of Season 8 of "Smallville".

The Legion will return in the May finale -- in some form. Also, I'm told this season's final two episodes will focus on a manhunt for Chloe and Doomsday.
