That said, there is no point in not waiting until BF if both players should have the update by end of October. If the the updates are not done, or are flaky, or the products are not on sale, well then you weigh the cost/savings to buy or hold. |

Which AVR Brands have announced HDR10+ passthru firmware is forth-coming? Royalty-Free would attract most the Majors right?
I'm thinking ahead for my next AVR. Gather must look for HDMI 2.1, HDR10+, Sony Low Latency DV, HDR10, DV as important for the video pass-thrus Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 07-18-2018 at 06:30 PM. Reason: Finishing |

Im not interested for 8K video passthru. In AVR.
Want the bandwidth increase from HDMI 2.1 for 4K media. Does that make before year 2020 for buying my new AVR possible? |

Decisions for some of us may come sooner. Seems So much will be at front door sooner than later. Before year 2020. https://www.avnirvana.com/threads/hd...receiver.2632/ HDMI 2.1 Bandwidth will glorify PQ from UB820, UB9000 Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 07-18-2018 at 07:53 PM. Reason: Finishing |

It was Todd Anderson, site admin for AVNivara that asked Yamaha to confirm the HDMI 2.1 hardware and they would not comment and soon after removed all indications of HDMI 2.1. As John said HDMI 2.1 will not help improve the picture or any performance in anyway on. |

I'm running 48 gbps Gz ECHOGEAR HDMI Cables between my UP970 Player and G6 OLED. Tho both TV, Player HDMI Ports not 2 1. I see much improvements in PQ. Its the HDMI cable's bandwidth. I believe when any player or AVR receives hdmi 2.1 ports(Chip or not)... even more increased PQ will be seen. Its for us AV Enthusiast to make that determination. Only via HDMI 2.1 Elements Audition will we individually truly know. My ECHOGEAR 48 GBPS Cable audition cost only $17. Being Home Theater PQ enhanced happy I bought 2 more. I feel Audition with that cable with my future UB820 or UB9000 is warranted. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 07-18-2018 at 09:13 PM. Reason: Finishing |

You could have HDMI 2.1 and 48Gbps on every piece of gear in the system, but if the content is created with the HDMI 2.0 specs you will not see any pq advantage in any way whatsoever.
With that said, it's nice to have a future proofed system, however, HDMI 2.1 chipsets have not even been manufactured yet so we're one to two years away from seeing any devices on the market. |

Like I indicated. I don't agree from my own hdmi 48 Gpbs cable(rated to 120 frames per second ) audition experience. BTW. Crutchfield specks show for that AVR... Quote:

It worked PQ better than the Premium Certified Cable I received in my OPPO 203 Box. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 07-18-2018 at 09:45 PM. Reason: Finishing |

Other than a measurable transmission loss caused by defective coax in a 2 meter cable you should not be able to tell the difference. Even the stiffer 24 AWG vs the more flexible 28 AWG should be not effect digital over HDMI for 2m.

Thanks for pointing this out. Just spoke to my friends at Crutchfield and pending confirmation they will be removing this misinformation.
