Agree why I may be harsh but people think he knows everything and is always right which is a slippery slope and funny as mentioned he does not answer peoples questions

P.S. the blue in that ^ cloudless sky, as mentioned in previous discussions with Stacey last May and most recently with Kris on the couple pages, can actually only reach ~ 590 nits fully saturated, even in HDR, not 10,000 nits

As of several years ago, I leave thee extended ‘technojabber’ posts up to you and others as one reason I try to limit myself with that sort of thing is by offering only short and advanced pearls, e.g. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post17351555

so as not to intimidate the likes of frogmort et al. into not coming back to read this thread by potentially inducing a brain drain headache.

Not sure what this is in reference to or what it even means?? Did I say something to the regard that you are not qualified to discuss video??

Yeah, you have to be careful. It is one thing if other people think he knows everything (that is their mistake, not his), but as long as he updates his information or is free to say he misspoke about something, I feel there is nothing wrong with that. Video science changes all the time, and there is information that is put out from companies and even committees which is misleading or flat out wrong that is the source of information for most, including reviewers and testers. I've been wrong many times when it comes to video stuff, though thankfully it is typically with small stuff. But I feel like this is a constantly evolving science and it is hard to stay on top of every detail and I'm MORE than happy to be pointed to better factual information at any time. Thankfully I have a small braintrust of folks that I check with when needed that are fantastic in that regard (Stacey being a key example).

Not at all Kris . I was being sarcastic to those lurkers behind the scenes who feel despite a long, proven track record I am not qualified to talk advanced video. You and I are on the same wavelength and have been so for a long time. In fact, I often cite you and your qualities as a reference….https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post15484689

Default Technicolor HDR

Bad news for Technicolor HDR, i.e. Advanced HDR or SL-HDRx!

"Staying on the subject of HDR, LG informs us that it no longer supports Technicolor's 'Advanced HDR' format leaving it with HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. LG has made the decision not to support Samsung's HDR10+."
https://www.flatpanelshd.com/review....&id=1585020920

According to DisplaySpecifications, the HDR formats supported by the LG OLED C8 are Advanced HDR, Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG.
https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/440511b9

According to DisplaySpecifications, the HDR formats supported by the latest LG OLED CX are Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG.
https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/426b1d6b

LG was the only manufacturer implementing Technicolor HDR on its TVs.
