Is it just me, or does this game not seem that impressive? The gameplay doesn't excite me, nor does the almost non-customizable controls, among other things. I was just expecting...better. Oh, and I'm not factoring the lag in to all of this. I was able to get into a room with almost no lag and play for a decent amount of time.

What does everyone else think?

Nope, I used a promo code from the PS magazine, to get it for free, so I'm no longer expecting to get a beta code, unless they are sending more out tomorrow.

Ive played this for about, 2 and a half hours. And more then half of that was trying to get into a game. I mean its supposed to be a BETA, not a ALPHA. But, when I can get into a game it is fun, until it lags or something. But dont get me wrong, I love SOCOM, its just that right now im a little disapointed.

As a Socom fan, since the original, I hope you are correct, but I'm having doubts. Even if they get the server sided bugs worked out, there are still a few major flaws with the gun spray, screen tare, and pop ups, that need to be fixed before October 14th. That's only about 3 weeks away.

Dude, this game's junk! With the likes of MGO and COD4, Socom just doesn't set a new standard for online shooters. I was expecting so much more than a been there done that type of game. As you said the gameplay sucks and the sound is even worse!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels the same. I hadn't played CoD4 in ages, and playing the Socom beta renewed my love and motivation to fire it up again.

I hope the official bluetooth headset is a good product at least. Eagerly awaiting CoD5, and hopefully CoD6(Modern Warfare??)..

Not to sound like a broken record (desperate maybe, but not a broken record), if anyone has a spare beta code, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm not expecting anyone this late to have one, but who knows.
