i am sure there will be a future update. the trophy support feature will come from the game developer anyway, not from a sony update

How is the blutooth headset? that's what i want to hear. Trophies will come eventually. I saw on n4g that it says PlayStation home on the box as well.

bluetooth headset before the update was amazing,

I have the mic volume on 5.. Music playing in the background... with mic in ear... and i can't hear the music... well you can hear it, but its very very very very soft... so no more hearing the gunshots and stuff...

Fits comfortable, feels great, works great...

Looks the trophies listed on the back are for tournament games.. and not XMB trophies.

Looks like Socom Doesn't has XMB trophies..

I'm not going to post a review until i have played it for a week...

And yes it says Playstation Home on the back. But it also says trophies... and those are not XMB.. so more than likely the HOME part will be patched in as well..

I have already logged 12 hours into this game, and I can tell you it is better than I expected. I took the day off work to play this game.. got lucky to get it on launch day.

The graphics are better than I expected, by no means are they a top level or something that will blow you away, but they do hold their own, and let you know you are playing a next gen type game.

All the game physics seem dead on for Socom fans.. decent recoil, couple hits and you are dead, load times are limited and it plays fairly smooth.

I would give this game an 8/10 right now. My biggest minus on this game, is there are still freezes and boots in online play, before and after server maintenece and 2.5 patch. Also the in game invites are really not setup well.. you can send a game invite from within the room, but for them to accept they got to leave whatever room they are in and go to community to read messages.. should be a way to do that from within any room you are at.. we bypass this by sending PSN messages instead..

Since this game is online only I am sure PSN trophies will not only be patched in, but backwards compatible like warhawk was... since you cannot share a game save to cheat at obtaining awards.

Another minus in my mind is there are only 7 maps, and 2 of those are only 8v8 or small maps version, which means there are only 5 maps for full 16v16 combat.. I only played one day and I am already used to them.. the new maps are nice, but they are too few. I know they plan on adding maps, but I take any "planned" features with a grain of salt.

Our clan had 12 people online last night, but I could not find out how to get a in game clan war, tournament or schedule a match? We just played ranked rooms all night to learn the maps.

what exactly does the proximity chat feature do?
Does that mean only people near you can talk to you? or does it mean when a team-mate gets close you can hear the transition between hearing them through your headset to hearing them through your speakers (since the voice should carry just like regular sound effects)?

The proximity chat is one of my most favorite features. It lets you hear ANYONE (enemies or teammates) through your speakers (in correct surround sound) that is near you and talking.. like you would in real life.

This is in addition to the mic chat which is only with teammates and one at a time, like every other socom.

The proximity chat works great for buddying up with players on your team and talking without taking up team mic time, or have to press mic button.. and it works great for listening for close enemies... a great feature.


oh and yeah I love the new mic works great.

There are alot of advertised features not enabled yet though, so there is hope for PSN trophies.. tournaments, the website calendar stat tracking, youtube upload, party system, home, and trophies are all advertised features that are not existing right now..

X2 they worked this feature out really well.

They did... There is one map I love.. its HUGE its in sky scrapers... 3.. each team spawns in one, and then one HUGE one in the middle. Its sweet, but the graphics are like a 7... still could be improved (needs AA badly).
