give it a couple of weeks, the hddvd fanbase will be all bought up and there will be few left to buy it. Be a realist if you want, but remember where you are. |

The insiders here say it's more like 1.7 but no one knows for sure yet. What we do know is that HP was dissapointing all around and so was Bourne. Pirates 3, however delivered the goods, as well as overall Blu ray sales. A mediocre selling title released on both formats will not win the war. No matter how close or far the numbers are for that title. However, if Warner had another title with the power of 300! Then we could talk about what the ratios for that title meant. Sorry HP just wasnt big enough to make headlines. Apparently the kids want DVD. |

We don't know if the 1.2 ratio is true. Besides, Blu-ray is beating the other format by about 2:1 this year. Moreover, I doubt HP will have legs on the other format like HP will on Blu. I note the Amazon graph posted elsewhere supports the assertion that HP on Blu will outpace HD-RIP. The FUD is thick in here. |

Also HD DVD has been STARVED for movies to buy, so of course they are going to buy a bunch of HP and Bourne movies while BR has to decide between 4 DH movies, POTC3, 3 SM movies, Superbad, FF, 5 HP movies, the Rat, Cars, and many more. |

If Warner wanted to make extra cash this holiday and see the same result of '300' they should of released 'BATMAN' or 'MATRIX' --

Regarding Harry Potter, all the Fry's in Northern California didn't even get them in stock on release day. I had to go back on Wednesday to find some. I don't know if any insiders can comment on this, but is there any particular reason why Warner seems to be having massive shipment/quality control problems? (Maybe two formats is too much for them to handle?)
Also, regarding Blade Runner -- it has 5 versions of the movie on 3 BD-25 discs and extras on 2 DVDs. Is this something that can be done with one BD-50 (including extras) using seamless branching? enjoy gandalf ![]() Last edited by gand41f; 12-23-2007 at 11:17 PM. |

That is pathetic,
Disney is on the winning team and very vocal about it, they have no need to jump on the trailing underdog's defense. And their evidence is over the tl51? Something that will probably never have movies released on it as not all of the players will even be able to play the damn movie. Yeah, right. They figure all the studio switch talk here is unfounded and just want to give out a retort. Let em think that. Won;t hurt anyone's feelings here. I suppose they actually believe in Santa too. |

I don’t read that forum…….. no time. So I just don’t know who that character is. The only similarity that jogs my memory regarding that poster’s handle is what “Gizmodo.com” is quoted as saying in this e-bay ad…………………… http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MESE:IT&ih=011 Are they the same? I don’t know, and don’t much care. I certainly wouldn’t describe an XL Blu-ray jacket on a man as being “sexy” though…..more like “sharp”, I’d say. But a size small on mystik with chaps, that be “sexy”. ![]() Perhaps they're two entirely different people, like I said, I just don't know. From your guys’ reports, highdefdigest forum ?sp. strikes me as sort of one of those fringe forums where all the vocal worker red ants have fled to spew their poison as AVS has clogged up the ant hill to the worker ants and only allows the mother ants to emerge from the underground caverns to the light of day to post FUD on their Insider’s Thread there......retired or not. In regards to Disney……….perhaps Gizmodo wasn’t invited ![]() ![]() A handful even had one-on-one candid conversations with said executive, which apparently demonstrated a tru Blu stance. So, not to worry. ![]() |

Penton-man
I just wanted to expand on your tid bits about Microsoft employees, etc. This is very widespread I've had a run in or two with one Microsoft employee at Wikpedia who likes to edit the encyclopedia at will. Someone else called him out on the discussion page as well, note: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Co...d_weasel_words Under: POV edits and weasel words "It would appear Petertorr (talk · contribs), an employee with Microsoft, has opted to edit on Wikipedia" I also liked this comment: "I have an issue with someone working on the HD DVD team in microsft editing blu ray articles.. I mean when your make a living off a competitor.. there is an inherint conflict of interest -Tracer9999 02:46, 31 October 2007 (UTC)" Just thought it would be good for everyone to know that Microsoft pays employees to edit Wikipedia. Sad thing is this guy is a Manager for the HD DVD group there. Last edited by kibbled_bits; 12-24-2007 at 02:17 AM. |
