Again, not asking for details - but CES was mega-hyped last year, and the only major news to come out of it was the news that didn't come from it - specifically Universal's temporary hiatus (and Fox's subsequent disappearance on similar grounds).
Outside of any major studio exclusivity announcements, I don't think CES itself is likely to present any blockbuster (i.e. war-ending) announcements so much as it will represent an inflection point where a series of moves over the next few months will make the outcome clear. In other words I anticipate an abundance of good Blu-ray news starting within the next few days which, in total, will make the eventual outcome clear.

Thanks Talk.
It's pretty much what I was expecting.
Penton's always stated that these things take time. So if he is busy now, we'll hear about his work on a six month delay!?

All insiders here, Paid, Talk and the rest talk a lot of sense. It's just that members get all carried away too much.

I stand corrected. That was a 9.2.

That would be Fox releasing Moulin Rouge and the Sound of Music on Blu-ray Disc.

So far, their "big title announcements" haven't had me reaching for the mouse to place any amazong-pre-orders. If CES comes and goes and the "big title announcements" don't distinguishi themselves beyond what's already been leaked (at the bits etc.), I won't be impressed.

Hopefully at least Disney will announce something like Sleeping Beauty and/or Aladding to pick up the pace.

We will make you a deal, we will make it the official Smurfy Streaking day if something goes down friday in your honor.
That is right, blu paint and skyclad down the streets says I.
It will be one of those freak things that happens once in a life time.

Ookie, thanks but I think I'll stick with the "blu'berry" pancakes. But I'll be looking out the window at you all.

Do you think Lions Gate-Michael Burns comment was premature, or could we get a big smile on our faces soon?

Talkstr8t, thanks ... and thanks also for being a "class act", particularly over at AVS where you interject some sorely needed honesty and decency.

Here is a pic of Amir in his new office in the Microsoft basement. They even took away his red stapler.

Now, now. We shouldn't make a hobbit of asking Insiders awkward questions... :-)
