Default Best Song of the 80's?

So I've got some down time at work and I'm pretty bored, checking out some YouTube and what not. What's everybody's favorite song from the 80's?

I think it's hard to beat John Parr's "St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)"

This song kicks some serious ass!

Best Song of the 80's

There were good songs in the 80s?

I'll take some of The Cure, Men at Work, Flock of Seagulls, Ah-Ha, etc. any day of the week. My personal favorite though is Mother by Pink Floyd.

Huh? That's not an 80's song.

My favorite would probably be Paradise City by Guns N' Roses, but you could give me any track of Appetite for Destruction and it'd be good. Also, Motley Crue's Too Fast For Love album had a lot of songs I would put up there.

Alas, based on the actual song, and impact and all that...Start Me Up by The Rolling Stones has got to be the best song of the 80's. I mean you still hear that in football stadiums everywhere.

November 30th 1979 was the album release date in the U.S, so it was making the airwaves mostly in the 80s?

Just to go back to my original post, I do karaoke quite a bit and I have been told that I'm a very good singer . . . Man in Motion is one of my favorite songs but it's a ***** to sing . . . John Parr can't even hit the notes anymore. But I found a free program to transpose mp3's, so it's in my range now. VERY exciting!

New Order - True Faith

While I find other songs more complex or superior in other ways, this song is something that I'll stil be listening to when I'm 70 on a beach. Overall, it's my favorite 80s song.

It wouldn't hurt if you had some organic mushrooms to enhance your listening experience either.

Oh so many great bands. Ozzy had some great stuff back then. AC/DC was really taking off in the 80's too. I know that they were from the 70's but they were a carryover. Aerosmith had some great stuff back then, too.

+1

It would be so hard to pick one -- I dug everything from The Bangles (gar i love Susanna Hoffs) to Guns N' Roses.
