What are good speaker wires with the banana plugs already on them? it seems that most here buy the wire and then place the banana plug on each, which is something I would learn to do, but do I have to?

I've never purchased speaker cables from them, but I think BlueJeansCables.com has them pre-attached. They are some of your better quality cables at a very reasonable cost.

All the other companies I can think of are in the +$50 per meter category.

Listen to Lou, I have purchased from bluejeanscables.com for my inter-connects for my amp and they are very well built cables and i highly recommend them.

http://bluejeanscable.com/store/speaker/index.htm

they also have great multichannel cables, Optical and SPDIF (digital coax) cables too.
For the quality, they are very reasonably priced. best of luck.

You would save a lot of money I think if you just put the banana plugs on yourself......for 5 speakers or more, you would need at least 20 of them, which means you would pay only $1.68 for each pair, or a total of $18.60. Add 100' speaker wire (I used this link only because the kind I wanted to link is out of stock, but this is still 14AWG), and this would run you $19.89. Add the plugs and wire together with the shipping of around $7 (I used my zip code to get an idea of the shipping costs) and the total would be around $46. You should really think of going this route goldensuitcase.....

Alright. I will go this route. But just to make sure, if I have 6 Polk speakers (2 60's, 2 40's, 2 30's), a polk cs2 and two ED a2-300's, would I need almost 40 banana plugs? Am I doing the math wrong? I'm thinking four per unit, right? Or is it less with the subwoofers or do I use something entirely different wtih those?

Thanks Forsberg Fan. By the way, I am a mild hockey fan, but I want to get into it so once I get all this done, I am buying the NHL package this year so I can get into it. I'm from Chicago so I always check in to see how they are doing so I'm thinking that will be my team.

Always good to have another hockey fan around! Hawks look good, but Kane was being pretty petty about 20 cents, don't you think? LOL!!!

Anyway, for a 7 speaker set-up, you need 14 pairs (28 total). You will not use them for your subs. You would use the RCA CL2 audio cables (or Y-splitters off of your receiver and/or sub(s)).

For your subwoofers you need the following Y-splitters( I am assuming you want them for the back of each of yoru subs as well) and cables....

Y-Splitter for the back of your Receiver

Y-Splitter for the back of the Subs

Just to make sure, would I need two each of these three things?

Also, from my understanding, the cab driver locked the doors and wouldn't let them out because he assumed he was getting stiffed. Now, what they did was completely wrong though, but what do you expect from 20 year-old kids who make that much money and have such huge ego's?

You would need 1 male/2 female Y-splitter for the sub-out off of your receiver and if you do decide to use the Y-splitters for the back of each sub, you you would need two 1 female/2 male Y-splitters (one for each sub.)

As far as Kane, I heard he was pretty much a D**k even before any of this stuff happened to him. So many people have been telling him how good he is, that he totally bought into it. Guys like they usually get theirs some day down the road. And yes, to much money and too little maturity....

While we're discussing cable needs, how many optical/HDMI/Coaxial/anything would I need if I have

Pioneer SC-07
Panasonic Blu-Ray BD35
PS3

I have 4 HDMI's and 2 Optical's at the moment.

As for HOCKEY, do you have the package every year from Direct tv? How much is it usually and how good is it?

Two HDMI- one from the PS3 to the receiver, and then one up to the TV. If DirecTV has an HDMI port then you'd need another.

One HDMI from your Panny and PS3 to the SC-07's inputs and 1 HDMI from your SC-07's output to your TV, so I say 3. Use HDMI, no sense in messing with optical cables when you can use HDMI.

HDMI Cables

The center Ice package is good. I have had it for 6 years now, and you get almost all of the games (they will blackout the Chicago home games on the package because Comcast has the rights.) Every year they are adding more HD games, but I still would like to see more. I love hockey, so I love knowing there is a game I can catch almost every night. My wife, well that is an entirely different matter.......

Thanks once again. You've been a great help since I began a few weeks back. One last question. What's comparable to the Pioneer SC-07 as far as Onkyo goes?

And when hockeyu comes back, we'll continue this discussion and make it better for I should be a bit more informed.

With Onkyo, I would say the SC-07 is sort of a hybrid between the 806 and 876 IMO. Either of them should have the features and enough power to make your speakers sound great.

Hockey is close, real close.....go Flyers!

I get to see a Home game against Philadelphia this season! I'm ready for training camp (I work about two minutes from where the Stars practice so I'll get to check out most of camp and lots of practice days)...August is the toughest month for me...GO STARS!!!

I'm very curious this year for the Flyers to see how Pronger (who everyone hates except if he is on your team, which applies to me now) and Ray Emery (the old Senators hot-headed goalie who seems to be a real who know what......) I think he will not make it thru the season in Philly....we are relentless, even on All-Star goalies in this town......this will be where the season makes it or breaks it for us.....

....and goldensuitcase, why not just find an 07 or look for the Pioneer Elite SC-27's instead of an Onkyo? (yes, this is a blatant fanboy suggestion...... )

First off, you can call me Sam. Seeing someone call me GOLDENSUITCASE doesn't fit when I think of it as someone talking to me. As for the Pioneer Elite, I pobably will get the 07. Did you not tell me though that the 07 is really the same as the 27? Which one is better?

Sam = Sammy = Samsung..... Anyway, the 27 is better because of slightly more power and more bells and whistles, but if you don't need those features, it would be the 07. If you can find an 07, get it, because it will be anywhere from $500 to around $800 cheaper. That would make the 07 easily my choice Sam.

I'm seeing most of them around $1,000. Should I be finding the 07's cheaper? And if so....WHERE!?

This is the cheapest you can get on ready-made 12 gauge speaker cables with banana plugs already on them.

http://www.cablesimple.com/index.php...oducts_id=5343

Remember that you need two cables. The price is for one.
