On my way to Target I was listening to Redskins Radio and it's official Washington hired Scott McCloughan as their GM. Presser tomorrow at noon.
I think this is a very good move by Washington. McCloughan has hit a lot of homeruns for both San Fran and Seattle. I was really hoping Philly could've landed him, although I doubt they even inquired.

Bucs hired Dirk Koetter as offensive coordinator.
Quote:
It's an excellent hiring for a team that got left in a 2014 lurch when OC Jeff Tedford was diagnosed with a heart condition before the season even began. Tedford ended up coaching zero games before being released from his contract, and inexperienced QBs coach Marcus Arroyo left much to be desired as interim play-caller. Koetter oversaw consistently explosive units during his three-year tenure in Atlanta, though the cupboard was obviously well stocked. That's not the case in Tampa, but the Bucs do have a building-block talent in Mike Evans, and are likely to use the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft on a signal caller. Even with a rookie quarterback, the Bucs will be a lock to improve upon their 2014 point total of 277.

Ice Bowl II?

The temperature is supposed to be 21 degrees on Sunday in Green Bay. Now, granted, that's not mild by any means, but it's nearly 40 degrees warmer than the original "ice bowl" which was at -15 degrees.

Even if at game time (12pm CST) it's only reached 15 degrees, that's still 30 degrees warmer...

It's nice and nostalgic being called Ice Bowl II, but IMHO a little bit of an exaggeration. Maybe I'm just too finicky and I'd rather the high be in the single digits for it to be a true "Ice Bowl".

Definitely doesn't take anything away from the great game that it's going to be however on the field...

McCloughan is very good, but he has demons. His history indicates the Redskins might be dealing with an issue. Time will tell.

Happy anniversary! Steve McNair's face on that is just priceless. RIP

And for those who don't believe it's a lateral (like 40 year old virgin Adam Schefter):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_zg...ature=youtu.be

PS I'm sorry Moviefan... I know that's an awful memory, and I understand if you still don't think it's a lateral. It was just Adam Schefter's article that really pissed me off.
We will never agree on this. I'll go to my grave believing it was a forward lateral. Although, we should have made more plays throughout the game to win it. It's hard for me to blame a loss on a blown call.

I'm not giving the Packers the win until the clock hits 0:00 and they have the better score.

+1 on this. With Detroit we only had to protect him for the 2nd half, now we need the protection the entire game.

I voted in the current poll as the "most likely" upset to be the Cowboys against the Packers. That doesn't mean I want it to happen. My real hope is that the "least likely" upset happens and Carolina shocks the world and goes into Seattle and knocks them out.

Of course I'd most want to see Carolina come into Lambeau for the championship game, but it'd also be very cool if Dallas did end up beating the Packers and they got to play Carolina in their new stadium and if they win at home to get to the Super Bowl, that would be pretty awesome as well for the Cowboy fans.
i'm not relying on it either.....but Rodgers should know this defense inside and out which will only help.

Let's just wait to see IF Dallas can win the SB.

THEN.... all of the Lion's Fans can bemoan: "That they could have been a contender..."

From the main angle shown in the replay, it definitely looks like a very slight forward pass.

It's one of those plays that just wasn't going to have enough evidence to overturn. Had it been ruled a forward pass, it would've remained a forward pass after review.

All I can say is thank god the refs let us have that moment because they robbed us blind in January of 09 missing that delay of game call (even though we beat ourselves that night).

Part of my bitterness is that I haven't seen the playoffs since that day.

it was definitely a forward pass, but thankfully the Titans gave us a memorable Superbowl.

If the Titans lost that game against the Bills, the Jags would of gone to the Super Bowl. I knew we would of beaten, Warner/Faulk and the Rams that year. Everyone praised and talked about the Rams vertical offense that year while the Jags who had the best record in the league never earned respect or received any attention from the media.

Jaguars were undefeated against the league that year, their only loss came to the Titans x 3. McNair, Eddie George and company just had our number that year. Fred Taylor & Keenan McCardell made a Super Bowl song thinking we would be on our way but were embarrassed at home during the AFC Championship game.

I still remember where I was when they destroyed Marino by 50 something points in the playoffs.

If we are going to talk about bad calls in the playoffs, how about the Mike Renfro TD catch that was ruled out of bounds in 1979 AFC Championship against the Steelers? That play is a big reason we have replays now.

Yeah, that was crazy, 62-7. I wasn't at the game, but I was home going nuts.
